Arielle headed up to the North Tower on a clear and warm night. Tonight's the perfect night. the Gryffindor thought to herself as she made her way up the winding staircase. When she reached the top of the stair she let out a soft sigh and a smile appeared on her lips. As she continued down the long corridor with a door at the end. She couldn't sleep, but if it was nice enough to go stargazing, she didn't mind as much.
As her hand grasped the door knob, she pushed it open and smiled. It was the perfect night to be out. There wasn't a cloud in sight and the moon wasn't out. Tilting her head upward, her hazel eyes scoped over the millions of stars. The smile played on her lips as she took in the beautiful scene.
Arielle tried to spot a few constellations, and she did. Taking her gaze away from the night sky, she looked over the grounds. They were a bit dark since the moon wasn't out, but she could still see the rippling of the lake from up here. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she felt all of her tensions slip away from her.
Her long brunette hair gentley flicked her back as the breeze started to pick up. Arielle looked up at the stars once more and got almost lost in them. She found relief in the night sky since she had been rather tense lately. It just all of the stress from the upcoming exams and everything else.

Rydell hastily walked towards the astronomy tower, his telescope and book bag in tow. He had done a very bad thing according to Ravenclaw standards and had postponed his homework until the night before it was do and was now in a rush to do it before he had to turn it in. He started up the steps to the tower and was almost there before he realized that someone else was already up there.
He slowed down and walked out onto the roof top of the tower and was surprised by the girl he saw. She was rather attractive and looked like she was enjoying the night more then he was. He glanced up and was rather glad that the moon wasn't out, One less thing for me to document. He thought to himself before he moved out of the doorway trying to be quiet so he wouldn't disturb her. He tripped over the tripod of his telescope with a loud curse.

When Arielle heard the door creak open, she turned her brunette head and looked at him. Her eyes fell upon a goregous 6th year. The girl knew him from her classes and they had talked every once in a while. A soft smile emerged on her lips as he walked by. Turning her attention back to the sight infront of her, she sighed softly. She felt the breeze blow her brunette hair around her hair and she quickly fixed it.
Arielle heard him trip over something and swear. Letting out a soft laugh, she turned around and saw him sprawled out on the ground with the tripod of his telescope laying ontop of him. " Are you okay?"she asked, stifling her laugh as she walked over to him. She bent down and put her hands on her knees. The moonlight shone down on them, reflecting off of the girl's necklace chain. It was positioned on the curve of her neck and the charm was nestled at the meeting of her collarbone.
The girl always felt an air of mystery around him, like he was hiding a secret. Arielle was curious but she didn't want to be rude to ask him about things. Especially not private matters.

Rydell closed his eyes and took a deep breath, Obviously he hadn't impressed anyone with his lack of coordination. He opened them again when the girl walked over and bent down next to him. "I'm Fine." he said as he pushed the tripod off of him and gently set it to the side, he didn't want to have to fix a telescope later. "Sorry if I interrupted you." he said to the girl. He tilted his head a little to the side,
Rydell's gaze took in her clothes and lingered for a second on her necklace before he looked back at her face. "I have a feeling we have had class together before." he said before starting to move so he could stand. "My name's Rydell." he said to her. "Rydell O'Connell" he added as he finished standing, he held out his hand, "Sorry about interrupting what ever you were doing."

Arielle smiled softly and laughed. " You weren't interupting me, I was just staring off into space."she said humor lacing her words. She noticed him taking in her clothes and such before looking back at her face. He hadn't really talked to him, but she knew he was pretty nice. Atleast thats what she had heard from her fellow classmates. She glanced over at his tripod, hoping it wasn't broken. She knew how expensive those things could cost a person.
" I'm Arielle Regal. Nice to meet you."Arielle said taking his hand and shaking it softly. As she pulled away she noticed the messenger bag on his shoulder. " I think we have....you're a Ravenclaw right? If you are, then we have.....Potions and DADA together."she said, her memory coming back to her. That was one thing that had gotten Arielle in trouble at times, her failure to remember certian things.

Rydell nodded, "That is where I have seen you before, Defense Against the Dark Arts." he said to her "I don't really go to potions, can't stand the professor" he said to her, "And yeah, I am a Ravenclaw." he added. He glanced down at his tripod and sighed softly, "I guess I am not going to be doing the homework tonight." he said mainly to himself.
"Arielle Regal?" he said asking if he had it right. He let out a soft sigh as he glanced up, "It is a waste though, Such a lovely night." he said to her, "Do you like to look at the stars?" he asked her as he looked out and noted a few constellations.

Arielle laughed softly. " I'd skip that class too, but my parents would anilate me if they ever found out about it."she said adjusting her necklace. It was true, her parents took her schooling very seriously. Thats what happened when you were the youngest one left in a chain of academic achievers. She glanced down at his tripod and back at him. Good thing it wasn't in worse condition.
Arielle smiled softly and nodded when he got her name right. " Yes I do. They're beautiful." she said before tilting her head a little to take a better glance of them. She was in Astronomy but she didn't like the professor that much. Oh well, she focused more on her work than anything for that class. Next year she was going to be in her last year here and she wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

Rydell nodded, "I don't know that feeling." he said to her when she told him about her parents. "My parents never really cared what I did as long as I didn't shame them." he said to her. "They are very... Honour based." he said. He glanced over at Arielle when she said that they were beautiful. "I agree, they are." he said, "The way that they can create an image of peace and beauty within your mind that can wipe away all doubts or fears." he said to her, "A constant reminder that even though we wizards are excelling here. There is so much more out there to be discovered."
Rydell laughed softly at a sudden thought, "I can just picture the face on some muggles when Wizards as a Community start flocking to launch sites and leaving to colonize new worlds." he said aloud.

Arielle nodded softly with understanding as he explained his situation. She had a friend just like that. Although no one would never know about the relationship between the two people, she felt the other's pain. His parents were strictly honor based too. It wasn't very pleasant talking about it at times, but someone had to talk to him about it since no one else would. Arielle smiled softly as he spoke about the stars. He spoke like poetry. It may have sounded odd, but it was true.
Arielle's velvety laugh echoed off the walls as he talked about the muggles. " I know, I bet they'll have their "scientists" trying to unboggle our complex systems. They'll go crazy trying to figure it out. They'll think it was from...what do they call it...oh yeah, aliens."she said shaking her head softly. Muggles could be tricked into almost anything and this amused her greatly. If there was a sport where they brought in a couple of clueless muggles trying to figure stuff out, there would be a huge crowd roaring with laughter.

Rydell laughed softly as he looked over at her, "Aliens given us magic?" he said. "The muggles have even less understanding then that. They would most likely instigate another mass Witch Hunt." he said to her, "And then we would just laugh at their futile attempts to burn us at the stake." he said to her, "They have a odd sense in justice towards what they view as different" He said, "But then again so does the wizarding community" he added. "I guess it is just human nature." he said.
He looked back up, "I imagine that sooner or later Mankind on a whole will be able to accept us. Wizards and Witches as equals rather then be afraid of us or hate us." he said. He didn't know where these thoughts were coming from or why he was sharing them with this girl, but he didn't mind. It gave his restless mind a way to slow down and take a break.
Rydell moved and sat down on the roof with his back against a small wall, "Standing and looking at the stars is fun, but only when you are able to stand for long amounts of time without discomfort." he said as he looked back at Arielle. "So, Why are you out here?" he asked her curiously. "If you don't mind my asking." he added.

Arielle nodded. " Hopefully, eventually they'll be able to understand us. I mean the majority of muggle parents are fine with their children's fate, but yet agian they can't really disown them."she said shrugging. She was certian that there were a few cases who didn't accept their children's abilities. " I think they'll be fine after they get over the shock factor of it all."she said glancing up at the moon shining down on them.
Of course muggles were smart, but they could be so clueless at times. Arielle remembered one time while her family and herself were in London there was a muggle who almost got hit by a double-decker bus since the person was talking on their cell-phone. Of course, the technologies that muggles had were great but they could be dangerous. " Oh, I'm just restless tonight and I didn't feel tired." she said looking back at him.

Rydell sighed, "I know of a couple cases that the muggle parents did disown their children for being Witches and Wizards" he said to her, "They received the letter from hogwarts and the parents up and vanished within a couple of weeks." he said to her, "They have sent letters trying to find them but haven't had a response yet." he said to her
Rydell nodded slightly, "I know that feeling very well." he said to her as he leaned his head against the wall and looked up at the sky. "I have it happen at least three times a week." he said to her as he noted the Orion Constellation. "Drink some warm Chai Tea with a little milk in it. It usually helps me fall asleep and from what I here it helps others as well." he said to her.

Arielle frowned at the thought of a fellow student of hers being abondened. Poor things. She couldn't imagine not having her parents around. They were her rock. All though she was closer to her mother, like most girls were, she still was very close to her father as well. It was hard for her to imagine not having parents like hers.
"Oh okay, I'll try that next time"Arielle said smiling softly as she stifled a yawn. For some reason, calming her body down was all it took to make her a bit tired. Right now it was just the begnning stages of calming down. As her eyes continued to look over the constellations, she spotted her favorite constellation. " Whats your favorite constellation?"she asked, not looking at him

Rydell leaned back and thought about it for a few minutes. "I guess I would have to go with Scorpio." he said to her, "Although my second favorite constellation is Orion." he said. "What about you?" he asked, "Any favorites?" Rydell watched the stars and smiled softly as they glittered in the sky making him relax a little more.

" Mine's Cassiopea."Arielle said looking up at the stars. They truly took her breath away. Especially when she was out on her farm and the moon was away. You could see millions and millions of stars, although you'd never be able to count them all in one night. She thought about how everyone in the world's history had seen this moon. It was remarkable, well atleast a little bit anyways.
