“Leave me alone!” Val yelled at the four tall boys who had managed to corner her. “You don’t deserve to be a Flint,” a low, husky voice growled at her. “You’re a traitor,” her brother’s harsh voice was menacing. All the boys had hoodies on so that if anyone passed they couldn’t see who the seventh years were. “Leave me alone!” Val screamed again. She didn’t want a repeat of what had happened with her parents. Crutiatus Curse. Val shrunk back against the wall; she could feel her wand against her back as it stuck out of her back pocket. “Muggles, mud-blood, even half bloods. You deserve to be scum like them. You spit upon our pure heritage and the Flint name, Valerie.” Her brother always used her full name now-a-days.
Val needed to get out of there if she wanted to stay out of pains reach. She looked around frantically, the night darkened the corridors. She had been on her way back from the library to get some books for some light reading when the boys had found her. “The dark lord should-” But his sentence was cut off as Val kicked him hard in the shin. She bolted down a corridor. She didn’t care were she was going. She passed the library and ran to the staircases, going up. She reached the seventh floor and ran down the corridor, her chestnut locks flying behind her. Had she been a muggle, Val would have been a great sprinter.
As if by call, the door appeared on the wall beside her. The Room of Requirements. She thoughts to herself and through open the door. She could here the boy’s shoes on the floor as they ran to try and catch the door. She closed it behind her and tears fell down her cheeks and they banged on the door. Please don’t let them in. They’ll kill me for that. Please. They must have given up because all sounds of banging stopped. She went over to the couch that had been set up for her. The room was cozy and comforting. Like her room at home. The bookshelf in the corner was inviting as well as the plush bed and muggle sweets. A soft smile formed on her lips. The room must have known that she wanted to spend the night. Toiletries were on he bedside table as Val snuggled up on the couch.

Albus was in one of his moods again. He always seemed to be in a mood lately. He just hated it here. Too many classes and not enough time in a day to have fun and pull pranks. He wanted to leave this school, but he had to stick it out a little while longer. Maybe he'd drop out in the middle of the year. Stay in Hogsmeade during the school year and nobody would be the wiser. Yeah, that sounded like a plan.
As he was walking down the seventh floor corridor, he saw that a group of boys was pounding on the door to the room of Requirement. They were yelling to be let in. He had a feeling that someone was inside that they wanted to hurt or worse, kill. He wished he could see their faces, but with the hoods, he couldn't. He pulled out his wand and shot stupefying spells at them. They dispersed and Albus paced in front, muttering about helping whoever was inside.
He soon got inside and there was Valerie Flint, lying on the couch. "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned.

Val heard someone come in and sat up on the couch, pulling out her wand. From her angle, she couldn’t see who it was and hoped beyond hope that it wasn’t one of the boys. But who stepped into voice but Albus Potter. Her big brown eyes widened and she jumped off the couch. “Albus!” She said and pulled him into the room farther, looking around him to see if the boys were there. They weren’t and she sighed in relief. She then realised the space between her and Albus, or the lack of it.
Val pulled away quickly, turning so he wouldn’t see her blush. The truth was that Val had a HUGE crush on Albus. But because of their differences, Val thought he didn’t return her feelings and she wasn’t about to tell him if he didn’t feel the same way. Everything seemed to crush down upon her right then and there. She was in serious trouble. She was worried about her brother and his friends but what about her parents. When they heard about this on top of everything else, well they may just kill her. If her brother didn’t beat them to the punch first, of course. Tear dripped down her cheeks again and she went to go sit on the couch again.
Val hated her life. She didn’t want to be a Death Eater. She didn’t want to be the only Hufflepuff in a family full of Slytherins. She didn’t even want to be a Flint for god’s sake! What she wanted to be was accepted. She wanted her family to love her for who she was. But they couldn’t do that know could they? No. She put her face in her hands and sobbed. Her plan was stupid. Her parents wanted to see her suffer. They wouldn’t disown her no matter how hard she tried. She could always run away. Val let out a short breath and look at Albus. “I’m sorry,” her voice broke.

"The Boys are gone," he said, calmly. "I took care of them." Albus hoped that they didn't come back, but if they did, he would be ready. Nobody messes with Val and if they did, they had to mess with him, too. He was strict on that. He loved Valerie. He had a crush on her, though that wasn't widely known. In fact, nobody knew it but him. Why tell her when she didn't like him back?
She pulled away from him and he took another step closer to her. "It's okay, Val," he said, comfortingly, putting his arm around her. This was making him even angrier than he was. "Who were those boys?" He wanted to know, so he could kill them. He had a feeling they were Slytherins and most likely one of them were her brother, but he wanted to make sure.
When she went to sit on the couch, so did he. He wrapped her in his arms again. When she apologized, he shook his head. "No need to apologize, Val." Albus wasn't always a nice guy or very loyal, but when it came to his friends, he was loyal. He was always there for his friends.

“Good,” Val said softly. Then her eyes widened. Albus obviously didn’t know what he was getting himself into or he would not have done that. It was known that Val’s parents were Death Eaters but not her or her brother. At least, not to those who weren’t Slytherin and, to narrow it down more, one’s that weren’t Death Eaters themselves. “Albus, you shouldn’t have done that.” Val said her voice shaking. Se didn’t want Albus to be in trouble. She liked him too much for that. And if anyone found out she liked him. Wow, he really was in trouble. “Oh my god,” Val started hyperventilating. “Oh my god.”
When Albus, she chose to call him this instead of Al because hardly anyone called him this and she thought it sounded a tad nicer then Al, took a step closer to her she wanted to tell him no and keep him out of trouble. But really, who was she kidding? This was Albus Potter, one of the only guys she had had a crush on the history of history. He must have been something then. “No, it’s not Albus. It’s really not.” She said softly. She allowed him to put his arm around her and, in return, went and hugged him. Damn, she thought, he smells good. She buried her face in his chest. She couldn’t pass up this opportunity. She turned up her tear streaked face to him. “It was my brother and his friends,” she quickly followed that up with, “But Albus, you have to promise that you won’t do anything to them. Please, as my friend, say that you won’t.” Val had seen what her brother could do. She knew that the Crutiatus Curse was only reserved for her with her brother. He normally did things much worse to people who weren’t family.
He followed Val to the couch and wrapped his arms around her again. She did the same as before as well, buried her face in his chest and tried to forget everything in the strong, amazing smell that was coming off of him. “I have every right to apologise,” she said, suddenly angry. “I’ve put your life in danger, Potter.” Her anger made her say that. “Why can’t understand that I don’t want anything to happen to you?” She froze. That was not supposed to come out. She looked at her shoes. He could take that as friendship right?

Albus was getting really confused. He had stopped those guys from hurting her and she's saying that he shouldn't have. Yes, he should have. Nobody messed with his friends. He wouldn't allow it. "Yes, I should have done it. I protect my friends, Val." He kept his voice calm. He always did when talking with his friends. When she began hyperventilating, he rubbed her back and tried to calm her down. "Val, nothing will happen to me. I can take care of myself."
She told him that it wouldn't be okay and Al shook his head. He wasn't going to agree with that. Everything will be fine. Everything had to be fine. He could protect himself and her against those Slytherin punks. They wouldn't be able to touch them. He smiled reassuringly at her. "Of course, everything will be fine. Don't you believe me?" She told him not to go after them and Albus sighed. "Fine, I won't do anything to them, if they don't bother you again. But if they do, I'd have to."
Albus could usually get angry at alot of people, even if they were his friends, but Valerie was different. He couldn't bring himself to yell at her, get an attitude with her. It was probably because he loved her that he couldn't yell at her. So, when it became apparent to him that she was angry with him, he kept his voice calm. "You did not place my life in danger and you don't need to apologize," he assured her. "I don't want anything to happen to you, either, Valerie. That's why I protect you. I could never live with myself if something did happen to you."

"Ugh," Val groaned. He was really starting to make her angry. "Albus," she started, trying to find the right words. "I care about about happens to you. You obviously don't have any idea how this is going to affect you in the long run. Now I know your a guy and guys think that they can take care of themselves but Albus, please listen to me, stay out of anything else to do with my brother. Please." She begged. Val cared about Albus too much, in friendship and slightly more then that, to see him get hurt. "You don't know what all that was about but in my family's opinion," she broke off just before her voice cracked. "Well, let's just say i could be dead and they wouldn't care. They just like to see people suffer and who better then little Valerie?" She asked, venom soaking into her voice with a deadly whisper that took over the end of her sentence. As Val hiperventalated, she felt Albus's hand on her back. It almost instantly calmed her down, as if his touch was a pain killer. Tears filled her eyes once more and pain, pain and agony for Albus, came with them. "Please. Just don't bother my family anymore Albus."
Val smiled. Ok, why was she such a mope right now? Her brother was gone, her parents weren't there, the Dark Lord couldn't get her at Hogwarts and she was with the biggest crush of her life in a small room with a couch and a bed. Why was she so worried? Perhaps it was that feeling in her stomach that didn't want to go away. "Ok, I guess you're right. I'm just being stupid." Val smiled slightly but not in the least bit convincingly. Her face turned stern. "Albus Severus Potter. Leave my brother and his friends alone unless you have a death wish. Seriously." Then she gave him the puppy dog eyes he could never resist. "Please," she said in a mocking, humorous, baby voice, "don't you believe me?" She quoted him and smiled that crooked smile she knew he loved. Hey, friends could have faces for each other without being in 'a relationship'.
Val was frustrated. Why wasn't he angry either? But still, his calm voice calmed her as well. She smiled at his words. Albus really was the cheese to her macaroni. "Thanks Albus. But I still think I've jepradized our lives." She said with a smug smile. But still, Val hugged him tightly. She did this, not only just to be close to him, to be be there, to be conforted and to feel a small spark of hope that maybe just maybe he felt the same way about her as she did about him.
(ooc: should val tell albus that she is a junior death eater? and should they make a move?)

Al was usually very calm around his friends, but now he could feel the anger rise. She was angry and now he was getting angry. She couldn't tell him to stay away from her brother and his friends, if he was going to hurt them for what they did to her. He made his own decisions and he dealt with the consequenses from those actions. "Listen, Valerie Flint, I make my own decisions. I will go after anybody that hurts you and nobody can stop me from doing that."
Oh no. The look she was now given him would make even the toughest guy melt. She was given him the puppy dog eyes. "Val...." he said. "You know I'm a sucker for that look." Which was probably why she was giving it to him. "I do believe you." He sighed. "Alright. I will not go after your family."
"I don't think you've jeopardized our lives any," he said, hugging her back.
{{OOC- That's up to you. But it could make things more intresting.}}

Val was ready to pull out her fully fledged, built up, raised by Slytherins attitude on Albus. "Really? Well i can stop you from doing that. I can and I will." Val said. She crossed her legs as if to symbolize that the conversation was over. But it wasn't. He needed to understand and the only way to do that would be to tell him the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. "Albus." She started. This would be hard. "I'm scared...because when my brother graduates this year, he will be a Death Eater. And next year, when I graduate, i will be too." She gave him a moment to take this in. "But please listen. I don't want to be and i don't have choice anymore. Albus, I've tried everything i can think of. Everything. Rebellion, disowning, nothing makes them want to get rid of me because they know that the one thing i would hate most is to become one of them." She stopped and whispered. "You don't know what they can do, Albus. What they've already done." She hugged herself around the middle and let out a small sob. "You can't stop it, i know from experience."
Val looked into his eyes, trying to make him believe. "Ever since I was a little girl I tried to make it stop. I hated dressing up and I hated everything that that quack my parents believe in stands for. I wanted so badly just to run away but it wasn't any good. I didn't have friends like you. Except for Brandi of course but she was different. I just want all of this to stop Albus. I didn't choose this for myself. If I could choose anything, it would be to be a happy little Hufflepuff and to just be with you." She dropped her eyes. "Please don't be angry with me. This is so hard as it is. Without you...well, nothing will be worth anything I guess. But I'll understand."
Val giggled as she watched Albus's face soften. She snuggled up to him. "I know." She waited for the answer she was waiting for. And there it was. Now for the reward. "Thanks Albus." She smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "Oops." She smiled, suppressing laughter. She'd forgotten about her lip gloss which was now slightly smeared on Albus's face. She licked her thumb and tried to rub it off. "My bad," she chuckled. "Thanks," Val smiled and snuggled right into Albus's chest.

He ignored what she said first. She couldn't stop him and she won't. He'll go after who he wants and nobody could say anything about it. His dad couldn't even say anything about it and as much as he hated it, he was still under his dad's control at home. Her next words got him. A death eater when she graduates? "You are like your family!" he said, angrily. "How could I ever become friends with you?"
She kept talking, but he stopped paying attention. She was a junior death eater. "How could you join them? And don't say you had no choice! I didn't join the Order because my dad made me. You had a choice and chose to join?" How could he have fallen in love with her? Yet, even though he was shocked, he still loved her. He couldn't help it.
He was surprised he hadn't pushed her away when she snuggled up to him. Then she kissed him and got lip gloss on him, but he didn't care. How could he? He loved her after all. He was feeling betrayed, but he hid that feeling behind his anger. One thing he has always liked about him was that he could hide his betrayed feelings. He shook his head. "I don't care."

Val winced as he scolded her. She wanted to cry but couldn’t. She turned away from him, ashamed. “Albus, you have no idea what my parents are capable of. I’ve already almost been killed. Do you want to hear the story as proof? Fine,” she started fuming. “I was six Albus, six years old. I asked why purebloods, half-blood and mud bloods couldn’t all get along. They almost tortured me to death. I was nine. My mother had taken me shopping. I went off with a little muggle girl to go have some ice cream. When I got home that night, the tortured me with the Crutiatus curse. I first rebelled from my parents by attempting to run away. I got half way down the driveway when my brother hit me with the Imperius curse and got me right back home and got me to put away everything that I had taken. You don’t know what it’s like to not be in control of your own body. And I hate it.” Val voce was still hard as all these hard memories rushed up to greet her again. Her voice was icy and formal. “The list goes on through my childhood but the worst of all. I decided to run off and leave the Death Eaters to join the Order. I hung out with Gryffindor and everything my brother hated. But he tipped off my parents and they caught me and this time took me straight to the big man himself. And what would you have to give to not look into those eyes, Albus? You have to go insane for years to see what he’s seen and I don’t want to see that. He told me this; I still remember the words as perfectly as if he were saying them now: ‘Valerie Flint. No, shut up and sit down now. You are a disgrace to your whole family and you always will be. Give me a reason why I should not kill you now?’ I could not so he pointed his wand at my throat. ‘Then I shall.’ Albus, everything comes back to you when you’re about to die. Do you know what I remember most? You. And your family on Christmas. Every happy memory I’ve ever had. Most of them had you in it. So I begged for him to let me live. And he did. He said: ‘Alright Valerie. But I am not always so forgiving. You are a pretty girl with a good future in my hands. Now you can either make it happen or beak it apart.’”
Val looked at Albus. Her eyes weren’t even wet and for that she was proud of herself. “That was when I realised that-” She paused, should she tell him? She had already told him everything else to tonight. Everything about anything that she could tell him really. What else could she lose? Oh ya, the boy who meant more to her then anyone else on the planet. “-I realised that I’m falling in love with you, Al.” That was the first time in….well ever that she had called him Al. She gave him a small smile before giving him a quick kiss. Not at all like the kisses she’d had with other boyfriends where it was just for the sake of kissing. No, she had craved this for forever.
“Please, please, don’t be angry with me Albus. Not after I just told you my life story and wrapped it up in a nice little love confession.” Val begged. She loved him, with every fibre of her being she did. “And I know you feel betrayed but I still have another year to find a loophole. I want to join the Order Albus. I just know how yet.” She giggled though as the smudged pink seemed to smear more as she rubbed it. He said he didn’t care. “Really?” She asked and kissed his cheek again, just to get more lip gloss on it. She smiled the crooked smile she had recently obtained and reserved for Albus. He loved it and she knew it. Whenever she smiled this smile, he smiled. And he smiled, she was happy.

Albus listened to her confession and he believed every word that he was hearing. Her family was a tough one. Maybe she didn't have a choice. No, Albus didn't know what it was like to not be in control of his own body. His family would never do that to him. They loved him. Maybe he was taken thier love for granted. He just never realized that there were people out there that weren't loved by their families.
He was a little sickened by what she told him. How did she ever get into Hufflepuff? She's obviously very brave and Gryffindor seemed like a better house for her. He was sure the sorting hat had a tough time sorting her. He didn't think he'd be able to be that brave if he ever faced that. She mentioned that she wanted to be a Order Member. "Then I believe you," he said. "I can talk with my dad to help you." Yet, he didn't think Harry would. He would probably believe that a Flint would want to join thier side as much as a Malfoy would.
Had he heard her last words right? She loved him? "Val," he said. "I wish you told me that sooner. I've been tired of being single and being in love with a girl that I thought didn't love me." He paused. "I love you, too." She kissed his cheek, getting more lip gloss on him and he smiled and it got wider when she gave him that crooked smile. He was a sucker for almost every little facial expression she had. Deciding that they had just confessed thier love for each other, a kiss on the cheek wasn't enough. He pulled her to him and kissed her on the lips.

Val hoped that Albus valued his family. She had never met them herself as his parents may not approve of their son being friends with the daughter of well known Death Eaters. By the look on his face, he was a little disturbed. “Believe me; I’m never taking you to meet my parents.” She smiled and her eyes twinkled. She would say anything to steer away from her family now and back to the present. “Thank you Albus, I’m glad. Not many people do. Do you realise why I thought you could be in danger before?” Then Val laughed. “Honestly Albus, do you think you’re father is going to help a Flint? I highly doubt it but thanks for the thought.” She said her voice icy. Val had been down this road before. She got her hopes up for nothing. Parents judged her the second they heard her full name and never gave her a chance. That was too bad; she was always great with parents.
Val winced, she expected him to totally reject her. She needed to really register his words to understand. Wait, he loved another girl who didn’t love him. Her heart fell until his next words came out. He loved her back? But didn’t he just- oh. He thought she didn’t love him. The light bulb flicked on and an almost dazed smile formed on her lips. He loved her; he really, truly loved her. But still, when he pulled her in and kissed her, it surprised her. But eventually, her eyes fluttered closed, her arms wound up and around his neck and her lips moved against his. This was absolutely how she thought it would be and she loved every second.
But realising that they were both human and that they both needed air; Val broke off this kiss reluctantly. Of course, she added a small kiss of her own after that. She loved him, she could tell. This wasn’t how she felt for any of her other boyfriends. It was a deep longing in her heart that would never had been satisfied unless he did that. “I really am falling in love with you.” She muttered, the smile that graced her lips getting bigger and bigger. She looked into his eyes and her heart skipped a beat. All that was written on Val’s face was pure and total love. She quickly pulled him in for another passionate kiss.

He listened to what she said. "Yeah, I understand," he said. He finally understood why she had been so worried about him when he made her brother nad his friends go away. She had loved him. "My dad may not help you if he knew you were a Flint," he agreed. "But if I tell him that you are a muggle born that I have fallen for, he would." He paused. "Plus, my dad cares about my happiness. He won't stand in the way if I'm happy. He may help you if I convince him that you are good." Though with how he treated his dad, he may not be able to convince him.
She broke away, enough for them to actually breathe before she pulled him to her again. It was different kissing her than when he was kissing one of his exes. There was something in the kiss. It meant something. He wrapped his arms around her and gently pushed her back on the couch.
