Rydell sat alone in the Courtyard, most of the students at school were either in class or out on the lawns on this beautiful day. It was a warm day, with few clouds in the sky and the occasional breeze that brought the scents of the trees and the few flowers that were still blooming with it. Rydell sat on one of the benches in the courtyard reading one of his muggle books. He had found a favorite author, and even though it had nothing to do with the magical world Rydell knew it still intrigued him with its talks of The One Power. Which resembled Magic quite well.
He sighed as he caught the scent of the flowers on the breeze. He closed his book with a finger in it to mark his page as he unbuttoned the top button of his shirt and loosened the tie that was part of the uniform. His skin was already a light red color from the sun already. He had only been outside for about Forty-Five minutes. He watched as a cloud lazily rolled across the sky.

Twilight had been kicked out of the History of Magic Class for disrupting it. Now, really, was it her fault she and Peeves were on good terms? She'd gone to the lawns only to find it crowded and so instead changed direction and headed to the courtyard, knowing that place was always quite silent and empty.
At the moment Twilight had flowling long, blonde lock and inquisitive, bright blue eyes. Her skirt, as per usual, was a good few inches shorter than it should be, her robes lay in her drorms, as she wandered with a loose tie and a shirt. Her excuse...it was quite a warm day, today.
As Twilight stepped out onto the courtyard she saw there was already a boy there. She took in his appearance before sauntering over. "Not fllowing the crowd on the lawns?" she asked him as she stopped infront of the boy. He was a Ravenclaw and therfore acceptable to talk to.

Rydell looked up as he heard the voice interrupting his thoughts. "Following a crowd of people is for lesser beings." he said to her, "Crowds end up one of two ways." he added. "In a ditch being buried or walking through a nations capital changing the way the government works." he said, "I am in no mood for either at this moment." he said to the girl, he looked her up and down. He noted the loose tie and shorter skirt then was required. He then noted the tie was Green.
"I take it that you have off this period like all the morons out on the Lawns." he said to her, "Sounds like a waste of time to me." he said aloud, he clamped his mouth shut, biting his own tongue as he realized he had said it out loud. The slight breeze died off leaving the lingering perfume of roses in the air, Rydell was glad that he was the first one in his family to be able to brave the sunlight in 200 years.

She raised an eyebrow as she heard his opinion on following the crowd. He was more interesting than she had orginally thought. "At the moment. So is this loner image a one off?" Twilight asked him curiously as she stood there.
Temps then heard him and smirked. "As a matter of fact I do not have the period off along with the 'moron's." She used the terminology he had used. "I've been booted out of the History class and thought I may as well soak some sun while it's here. After all, come October all we'll get is rain." As she spoke Twilight returned to her original form of ivory white skin, short black hair and deep brown eyes, that were actually heavily outlined in black.

Rydell nodded when she told him she had been booted out of class, "I am not a loner, I prefer to read in solitude. Although as of late I am discovering that is near impossible. At least while I am outside." he said to her, "Too many things distract me." he said to her, "Well, I guess you could call me a loner though." he said to her, "I don't have that many friends and the ones who do usually avoid me at school to avoid any criticism for being with me." he added. "Disrupting Binns class though?" he asked, "Sounds like any day of the week for most students, just haven't heard of someone getting kicked out before though." he said to her.
Rydell opened the book he was reading and put the leather book mark that was on the bench next to him into it. he memorized the page number just in case. "Soaking up the sun though" he said, "That is something I regretfully can't do." he said, "My Normal skin color is white.... Really pale white." he said to her, "I have only been outside for about..." he said as he looked at his watch. "Forty-five minutes and I am already starting to burn." he said as he noticed the pink color of his hand. He looked up at her and noticed that her skin color had changed as well as her hair. "A metamorphmagus?" he asked her.

Twilight sat herself on a ledge, her skirt riding up slightly more as she swung her legs. "Solitude? I'm surprised you find that at all around here. And I'm assuming it would be impossible when we have this type of weather." Twilight looked at him. "Right, so let's get this straight, you aren't a loner but you are?" She wandered if this boy had any idea what he was on about. "Well at least you have friends even if they are avoiding you." This was said in a quiet mutter. Twilight let it go and grinned at him. "Yeah well most people don't have Peeves on their side." she laughed heartily.
She continued to listen to him. "Well that's quite unfortunate that you burn easily." She could see he was starting to go red.Temps then looked at him, "Me? Yeah I am. Dad's one too but he doesn't use it much. prefers to keep in one look said he'd only change if he was on his...." Twilight trailed off quietly.

Rydell nodded, "I am loner because I prefer solitude but I don't like being alone." he said to her, "If that makes any sense you should of been put in Ravenclaw." he said to her. "You can have friends, you just need to find the right people." he said to her. His hearing was slightly better then a humans because of his vampire bloodline. "Hell, I am willing to be your friend." he said, "And I just met you." he said, "Peeves leaves me alone." he said to her, "I don't think he knows what to do to get to me yet." he said
"That is cool by the way." he said to her as the breeze caught up again. "I would love to be able to change my appearance at will, but alas I have to settle for spells." he said to her with an odd smile. "I have to work out the way I want to look ahead of time then alter my appearance that way. But I still end up with the same problem with my skin. I guess that is what being an albino is about though." he said not revealing what he was. "My name is Rydell by the way." he said as he stood up and moved towards her sticking out a hand.

"I'm like that. I keep myself to myself unless I want to appraoch people." she explained to him simply. Twilight then laughed, "I don't let people in that easily." Twilight slapped herself mentally. She was meant to be opening up not putting on the armour before attacking potential friends. "I love Peeves. He knows how to wind everyone up. But he knows not to mess with me." Twilight could pull strings with the Bloody Baron and so Peeves behaved when with her.
"Yeah, it's petty awesome. I can change who I want to be at the drop of a hat." At those word she had medium length brown hair and sharp green eyes. her nose was more pointed and cheek bones more defined, "Only problem is when I get angry or upset it jist happens I can't stop it." Temps then explained, "Well I'm sure you could find some spell to stop the burning..." She placed a hand in his and said, "It's nice to meet you Rydell. Twilight Tempest"

Rydell shook her hand before moving to sit down next to her, not to close but not far away either. "I understand that feeling." he said to her, "I haven't been able to let anyone get close fast for a long while." he said to her as he sighed, "Things happen to make you not want to have friends. And other things happen later to make you afraid to have friends." he said to her remembering his past. "It just takes a bit to get over those things and try to move on." he said to her. Great, there I go being a counselor. Rydell thought to himself as he sighed mentally.
"If I could find a spell to stop the burning it would be a miracle." he said to her, "I have been looking since I was Fourteen" he said as he looked at her, forgetting for a moment that he still looked like he was fourteen. "I think that it is one of the main reasons I am so detached from the rest of my house." he admitted. Of course the majority of his house knew that he was a vampire and that helped make him a loner. "So, your a slytherin?" he asked Twilight.

Twilight changed to her original state and looked at him. "It's nothing like that. When you grow up not letting anyone in because you've seen what it does to others then it'ss pretty much all you know. How to block people out." Temps knew her reasons for blocking people out and wanting to let them in.
"What year are you in?" she asked. Tempest couldn't place her finger on it. he spoke with wisdom of the senior years but looked younger."yeah well maybe I could do you a favour and have a look for it. I ahve spare time." Twilight looked at her tie. "No I'm a Hufflepuff in disguise." her voice dripped with sarcasm.

Rydell shuddered when she said she was a Hufflepuff in disguise. "I hate hufflepuffs." he said to her, "They drive me insane." he said. "I am a sixth year student" he said to her with a grimace. "Don't worry about doing me any favors. The few books I haven't checked yet are outside of the school at the place in Diagon Alley." he said to her, "And the spells that Are here at hogwarts don't really work." he added.
"Blocking people out is second nature to me." he said, "I open up to members of the opposite sex easier because that basically consists of the people who don't want to beat me up or try and drag me down with taunts." he said to her. "Most of the guys who do talk to me tend to try and get me riled up so they can have a reason to attack me." he said to her as he looked at the courtyard a couple of students were walking through it holding hands. he sighed, he was never going to find someone like that for him.

A genuine smile crossed her face. "I feel the same way. I just can't stand them." The house had always managed to annoy her in some way. "Twilight then nodded, "Ah only a year below me then." Listening to him, "Oh it wouldn't be doing you a favour it would be giving me a project. Diagon Alley and here are usless. You need Knockturn Alley, hun." She didn't like the Darker alley for the company was nothing less than sleazy and harsh, but everything there was so much more intereting.
"Mmm, I get along so well with guys. I can't stand the bitchiness that girls hold when they are in large groups. It winds me up. i like thae fact that guys can just deck each other and apologize. Girls just rip each other to shreds with words." Twilight knew she could be so harsh but sometimes it wasn't worth it. Twilight's eyes caught hold of the couple and there was a look of envy but the words from her mouth were enomous. "relationships are so stupid. they tear people apart when they don't work. You open up and leave yourself ulnerable and people can mess with you." She shook her head.

Rydell nodded as he listened to her, "Yeah, Relationships are stupid." he said, "But then again some aren't so stupid in the end." he said, "Yeah you might bicker and fight with the person, but in the end you don't know if you are going to be with that person for life or just for a few months, which is nothing but a moment of our lifes." he said to her. "So don't knock it till you have had at least one good relationship." he said to her. Rydell smiled softly, "Besides, you never know when you might get to mess with someone else." he added.
"If you want to help me out be my guest." he said to her, "I wouldn't walk down that alley if it was the only thing that could save me." he said to her, "Personal reasons." he added quickly as he thought about it, She could find out too much He screamed in his head as he looked at her, he didn't want her to know he was a vampire and it was too easily noticed on that street. What am I doing, accepting someones help. It isn't like me at all. He thought to himself as he looked away.

"Yeah but that's what stupid about them. I mean how can you open up and let someone that close if you don't know for definate that they're going to be with you for the rest of your lives. Ok some people end up happy together, But I;ve seen the affect of love on my father and what happened there and I couldn't deal with it like he does." Twilight said sharply. "Love isn't fair and I'm refusing to be one of the fools that fall into it." However, deep inside Twilight wanted nothing more than to feel that bliss of being with someone who thought the world of her.
Temps nodded, "Yeah, I only go down when I'm bored but I know where evrything is. I'll just pick up a few books and look for it for you." She didn' really know why she wanted to help him but this guy was diffeent and she like that.

"You just have to trust them" Rydell said to her. "That is the main basis of any relationship. Friends or loved ones alike." He said. The breeze picked up the smell of the forest bringing the smells of the berry's and flowers with it. "If you want to have a long lasting relationship with some one you need to be willing to work out your differences." he said as he looked at her, "And it all depends on the person you are with also." he said.
"Thank you" he said to her with a small smile. "I can repay you for anything you buy." he said to her, "At least for anything you buy for my sake." he said to her as he looked at the sky, watching a cloud lazily drift along he sighed, "I would like to be like that cloud." he said randomly. "Able to drift along at my leisure." he said aloud.
