Rydell walked amongst the dark trees, moonlight glittered down through the many leaves leaving much hidden. His eyes picked up the creatures moving through the forest, a squirrel leaping from branch to branch running away as he neared it.
Rydell's body thirsted for the blood of any creature that crossed path's with him tonight, unless of course it was human, he wouldn't do that to anyone. He saw the heat of a Unicorn bound through the forest in front of him and a slight smile crossed his face.

Athame wandered through the forest, casually glancing around, keeping an eye out for potions ingredients. They were almost always more potent fresh. She heard the skittering of the forest creatures. A Squirrel crossed her path. In the distance she heard the calm hooting of an owl. A song bird twittered in the branches above her, warning others that there was a large predator in the territory.
She slowed and came to a halt. For a brief moment, Athame simply took in the tranquil serenity of the old forest. The wind blew and the tree ranches swayed. To Athame, it felt as though the forest was speaking to her.
She knew that she shouldn't be here, but the bustle of the everyday life at Hogwarts greatly disturbed her. It wasn't the fact that there were so many people, but that she felt as though they were all judging her. Not only that, but she believed humanity to be something of a joke. She preferred the savage placidity that this forest offered.
A crunching sound snapped her out of her reverie, and she froze, unsure of what she would find when she turned around. The adrenaline was pumping and she was prepared to take action when she turned around. A stunning white sheen caught her eye and she quickly realized that it was a unicorn, slowly shambling toward her, eying her with cautious curiosity.
She slowly reached her hand to the creature and lowered herself to a kneeling position, to appear less threatening.

Rydell softly followed the Unicorn, hoping to find it's den. That would be something to brag about. He thought silently to himself as it wound deeper into the forest. It seemed to be looking for something. Rydell heard the skitter of squirrel's as they raced along with the unicorn. The moonlight seemed to follow this creature as it walked.
As he followed he soon saw what it was the unicorn was heading towards, a Human shaped heat source bloomed on his vision and he stopped dead. The one thing he had forbidden himself from drinking and it was here in front of him, taunting him. He looked around and saw nothing else but the human and the Unicorn and it made him nervous.

Athame was excited and frightened. This was the first time she had ever been close to a living unicorn, and the great beast kept coming toward her. But she also knew that Unicorns weren't always the mellow creatures the fairy tales had made them out to be. They could become quite violent if they felt that they or their young were in danger. They were also quite territorial. Seeing a young male showing no warning signs of an attack made this an incredible experience for her.
When his snout touched her hand, he sniffed, and then backed away and huffed at the oddly threatening scent. It was obvious that he had never seen a human before, and his instincts were screaming at him to fight or run away, but his coltish curiosity got the better of him and he approached again.
This time he allowed her to stroke his snout and when she scratched right above his nostrils, he let out a contented nicker and pushed his head into her arms more, silently demanding a continuation of the ministrations. She tried to go slow, but her wanted more scratches, and Athame found that he seemed to enjoy the soft spot right behind his ears being scratched the most.
Suddenly, the hair on the back of Athame's neck was standing at attention, and she felt a tingle go up her spine. She felt as though she was being watches, but that was soon pushed to the back of her mind when the young stallion bumped her so hard she fell and landed on her rear end.

Rydell watched the Unicorn and the girl, When she touched the unicorns snout he wanted to yell at her to get away, but then he remembered his lessons from the Magical Creatures teacher and stopped himself. He started to move closer, almost ghostlike in his steps, not a twig was broken. Sometimes he was almost glad he was a vampire, almost. He stopped as he drew closer when the unicorn, a colt by the looks of it. Knocked over the girl, when she fell the young colt bolted running off into the forest, the bright shimmer of his coat disappearing.
Rydell looked at the girl and sighed, He strode foreword, the twigs and leaves under his feet crunching and making a racket of noise that would announce his presence to all but the deaf. "I thought that someone would remember being taught about Unicorns enough not to try touching them when you are unsure of what they will do." he said aloud, still hidden in the shadows.

Athame was annoyed at the appearance of the young man, especially when he appeared to be scolding her for her actions. Who was he to chide her, as if she were only a child? She didn't recognize him from her own school house, but assumed that he was a student because of his appearance. Then again, it came as no surprise to her that she didn't recognize him. She didn't hold much with human company and in truth, tried to avoid it unless it was necessary. Idiots were well supplied at Hogwarts, and she wanted no part of the varied teenage company and the muddled prattling and pointless skirmishes that were the only thing Hogwarts offered beside knowledge.
Stupid Boy, She thought, He was the reason the creature was spooked. Indeed there was something odd about him. The way his eyes flashed in the moonlight disturbed her. They weren't out of the ordinary, but, at the same time they seemed inhuman. Otherworldly, perhaps. Or maybe it was simply the emotion behind them.
"I would have been perfectly fine. I am old enough to worry about myself." She said, the annoyance in her voice was blatant. "Perhaps, it would have been safer, had someone not spooked him by stalking silently in the distance." Chide me like a child again, and I will insure that all the hair on your body will take a permanent vacation. She threatened in her thoughts.

Rydell sighed as she pointed out that it had been spooked off by him, "It might of been or it might of been the contact with someone he was unfamiliar with that scared him." he said to her a beam of moonlight flashed across him as a cloud moved in front of the moon. He pulled out his wand and muttered "Lumos". The tip of his wand ignited so that he could allow her to see him fully.
Rydell looked the girl up and down and noticed she was another Slytherin. A third slytherin. Wow, I must be doing good or really bad to have encountered three attractive slytherin girls and not the guys. he thought to himself as he looked at her face. "I didn't spook him, That much I know. He didn't know I was there. almost no one has noticed my following them." he said aloud.

"I sensed a presence watching, but I didn't know it would be another idiotic boy. What are you out here for? Just another imbecile who thought they would get some jollies from teasing the Forest Folk? How incredibly..." She paused for a moment, wracking her brain for the perfect word. "...dispiteous."
She was irked beyond all belief. Not only had this boy scared away her first enjoyable experience at this horrible school, and now he stood there with his wand pointed at her, taking in her every feature with his eerie eyes. She wished more than anything that she could simply reach out and grasp him by his front, then physically hurt him.
She blinked. Why she was feeling so violent toward this particular individual she couldn't even fathom. Indeed, he wasn't even her worst encounter in her long seven years at this institution.

"I don't play around in the forest, I am out here for a specific reason." he said to her. He lowered his wand and looked at her, "Besides, You certainly looked as though you knew what you were doing out here." he said to her as he looked around, he didn't see anything else around them but could of sworn he had heard something.
Rydell sighed, "Have you seen any deer?" he asked her suddenly, Maybe she will know where some might be. he thought to himself as he looked her again, "Or any squirrels? the last one I saw disappeared right before I came across you." he said.

Athame was flabbergasted. What the hell was he on about? Deer?? Fucking SQUIRRELS!?!?!? She was obviously wrong. This boy wasn't a moron. He was a lunatic! She sighed heavily and rolled her eyes before sitting down on the ground and putting her hands on her temples massaging them slowly. How the hell was she supposed to act toward a crazy person? Being rather foul to and idiot was nothing, but being mean to someone who couldn't help it was just plain wicked.
She looked up at him, still slightly aghast. "Are you...right... in the head?" She asked him, already sure that he wasn't. "Perhaps you forgot to take your medication before wandering into the forest?" She suggested. She felt a little bad bringing it out into the open, but it couldn't be helped, and she needed to be on her guard especially since it was close to the full moon and all the loonies were apparently already starting to come out to play.

"My head is perfectly fine, it is my stomach that is not fine." he said to her. "I am trying to find some food." he said to her as he watched her sit down. Looking around his eyes saw a faint heat source but it was to far away for him to effectively get to before it moved on. "I hate waiting for food to be brought to me so I try to find my own." he said so she wouldn't realize what he was. "I am a better cook then the house elves are anyways." he added
Rydell sighed before sitting down as well. "My name is Rydell." he said to her, feeling that introductions were necessary. "And I am a Ravenclaw." he added

"Forgive me, but that pretty much convinced me that if you are crazy, then you are not what you appear to be. Spare me the excuses. I saw a small family group of deer about 400 yards back that path." She pointed. "A rather large buck, a female, and her offspring. Just leave the doe and her fawn. Neither are big enough to get much meat from anyway." She felt defeated. and still a little annoyed, but she had a theory about this...she wasn't quite sure if he was human anymore.
"Swordsman. Slytherin." She said, not ready to divulge her given name. Names had power, and could be used against one, especially with the dark arts. She never used her first name anyway, and the staff alway called her 'Miss Swordsman'. No one here knew her given name but the staff, and she was determined to keep it that way.

Rydell looked at her and nodded, "That is what a lot of people think" he said to her with a smirk. "but none of them have known me for too long so I just get along with it." he said to her, "Thanks for telling me about the deer." he said to her as he stood up. "I should probably go get one of them then." he said to her. "Do you want any venison Jerky?" he asked her, He was going to have to dispose of the body when he had finished. Cooking it was something that did that anyways. Plus it earned him some extra cash.
