Spencer walked into the Three Broomsticks in a hurry to get out of the rain and wind. Her wet hair was in a million different places, and she desperately tried her best to comb it into place with her fingers. A sigh escaped from her lips, and she grabbed a table near the back of the room. As always, The Three Broomsticks was packed with people. Full of people that laughed way loud, and talked at the top of their lungs. The noise would normally run Spencer out, but she dreaded going back out in the weather she was previously in. She, of course, did not think of bringing an umbrella.
Spencer pulled a small mirror out of her purse, and she checked her appearance, wincing a little when she noticed that her eyeliner had smudged quiet a bit. She tried her best to wipe it all off with a napkin, but it left her eyes looking a bit dark underneath. Great, now it looks like I have bags underneath my eyes, she thought to herself and groaned.
Spencer ordered a butterbeer, and she began looking around the room, making remarks about the people that surrounded her to herself, grinning occasionally as she thought of things that she found funny. Her butterbeer arrived, and she took a break from criticizing and took a drink of it.

Rydell was jostled back and forth as he tried to find a place to sit without bothering anyone. Most of the tables were full and a few that were empty quickly filled up. He sighed softly as he was forced to sit with someone that would probably be disturbed by his company.
He spotted a table with a slytherin sitting at it and decided that it would be better then sitting anywhere else. He walked over and looked at the girl. "May I join you?" he asked her as he was bumped again. Partially spilling his butter beer on his shirt. Great just what I needed. To look stupid in front of someone new. He thought to himself.

"May I join you?"
Spencer turned her attention to the voice. She didn't know the guy, but she was sure that he was from Hogwarts obviously. Spencer did not answer quickly and she hid her smirk to herself as he almost spilled his butter beer on his shirt. She observed him for a moment, something she always did. She was, after all, a very judgmental person. "Sure."She answered slowly and pointed to seat in front of her. Spencer was not one for making conversation, so she sat silently for a moment, sipping at her butter bear.
Spencer soon came annoyed with her own silence, and looked up at the guy in front of her. "What's your name?"she asked him. She was no good at starting conversations. Although, once people normally got her talking to them, they would wish that they hadn't. Spencer knew that she was a bitch, and she really didn't care about how anyone felt about it.

Rydell looked at the girl and smiled slightly before sitting down, "Thank you" he said to her as he took a drink of his butter beer and then set to fixing his shirt where the butter beer had spilled on him. He was going to kill something if he couldn't get it clean.
Rydell glanced over at the girl, "Oh, sorry bout that forgot that I didn't introduce myself." he said to her as he put his butter beer down on the table. "My name is Rydell" he said holding his hand out to shake hers if she wanted to shake. "Pleased to meet you." he said.

Spencer casted a glance at the extended hand before her, and she hesitated before taking it and shook hands with Rydell before quickly letting go. She wasn't one who shook hands much. "Spencer."she said quickly. She hated meeting polite people simply for the fact that she was far from polite. She began to tug at a wet strand of her hair, and was suddenly embarrassed by her appearance. She bit at her lip before speaking.
"The skies looked clear when I left the school this morning."she mumbled. Spencer was not used to looking a mess. It was always her life goal to look pretty, which she found herself to be. Spencer thought the world revolved around her, and she didn't plan on changing that.

Rydell took a long drink of his butter beer before looking at her. "The skies always look clear." he said, "I have learned that if you see clear skies expect rain, and if you see cloudy skies expect beautiful days." he said to her with a smile. "If you need an umbrella though you can take mine." he said to her, "It is next to the door." he added. "That is if you are leaving anytime soon." he said quickly, a little nervous. He didn't want the girl to think that he was telling her to go.
He took another drink. "Sorry if I seem pushy or anything." he said sheepishly. "I just don't talk to many attractive girls." he added. "I don't talk to many people in general actually." he said as he looked at the table in front of him. Great, just what I need. To look stupid in front of someone I barely know. And on top of it I just blurted out that she is attractive. Stupid, stupid, STUPID! He shouted in his mind.

Spencer simply stared at Rydell for a moment. "But you would think that a clear sky would mean a pretty day. It's a shame."she said, slightly shaking her head. She was still somewhat angry about her soaking wet hair that was dripping off small, cold drops of water. She sent Rydell a strange look when he offered her his umbrella. "Well, firstly, I doubt much more water damage could be done. Secondly, I really don't plan on leaving until the weather dies down a little. That rain is freezing."she said, shivering slightly.
Rydell's comment on being attractive made her smile. She was vain, being reminded even in the smallest way that she was attractive brightened her day. She hadn't always been like that, at one point in her life, she was a down to earth person. A bit of a tom boy, but she wasn't the snob that she had slowly turned in to.
"It's fine. I understand, I suppose. I don't talk to people much either. That's simply because most get on my nerves, but you are all in all attractive yourself, so I think I am going to make an exception today."Spencer said in a serious voice. She was far from shy, and she was completely used to speaking her mind whenever she wanted.

Rydell nodded, "The weather in the afternoon isn't always what it is in the morning," he said to her, "I have learned that the hard way." he said as he looked at her, he took a pull of the Butter beer and looked over at another table. He hated not knowing many guy friends. People to wrestle with or play sports with.
Rydell turned a bright shade of red when she told him he was attractive. So far in his life he had always assumed the opposite, "I am not attractive, Believe me I am far from it." he said, He had his other side to deal with and from what he had been told he was a scary guy when he was hungry. She was in luck though he had eaten earlier that day.

"I have learned that the hard way."
Spencer nodded in agreement and pointed at herself. The fact that she was sitting there, drenched, her hair a mess, made her sick. She was too conceited to ever look rough in front of other people and yet there she sat, having a conversation with a person she had just met, looking her worst. The thought made her cheeks heat up. She watched Rydell as he looked over at the table not far from them, and looked up suddenly when he said that he wasn't attractive.
"Well believe me. If I say you are attractive, you are."Spencer replied to Rydell. She would never tell anyone they were attractive if they weren't. She had always been crucially honest, and if she thought someone was unattractive, she would flat out tell them. She took another sip of her butter beer, and pushed it to the side. "I'm in the mood for something a bit stronger."Spencer said with a shrug and ordered a fire whiskey.

Rydell looked at her, "I believe you when you say that I am attractive. But that is your own opinion, not mine." he said to her. he took another drink of his butter beer and watched her order a fire whiskey. "Those are pretty good." he said to her smiling. "I usually get those but I was more in the mood for a butter beer today." he said to her.

Of course, Spencer thought her opinions were more important than anyone's, but she kept her mouth shut, deciding to just leave it alone. It was a shame though. There were several attractive and beautiful people that just did not realize how good they really looked. Spencer took a drink of her fire whiskey.
"I usually get those but I was more in the mood for a butter beer today."
"I was too up until my entire appearance was ruined a few minutes ago."Spencer said with a sigh. She had forgotten her purse in the dorms back in the castle, so had no makeup, no brush, no anything. She simply had her pocket money and her wand. Luckily, she always had plenty of money in the pocket of her cloak. It was always good to be prepared.

Rydell smiled at her, "I don't think that your appearance is ruined." he said to her. "Even if your make up ran a little, it is no where near as bad as it could be. You could look like a clown." he said to her trying to joke a little, "But seriously you still look really good." he said to her seriously as he took another drink of his butter beer.

"Well that must mean that I look absolutely stunning when I'm not a mess."Spencer stated with a conceited smile. She admired herself. She had not always been like she was now. At one point she was a tom boy with scabbed knees. But all of that had changed once she was older. She had gradually found insects and dirt disgusting and that shoes and hair was more important to her. Being admired was now the one thing that she aimed for.
"So. What house are you in? I haven't seen you around school."Of course Spencer did not see him around school. Everything was invisible to her. She rarely noticed anyone. Yet another outcome over her self pride. She hoped secretly that he wasn't a Gryffindor. She, like most Slytherins, found Gryffindors to be the enemies.

Rydell smiled at her, "I am a Ravenclaw." he said before finishing off his butter beer. "Not that it really matters, Most people don't see me." he said to her, "And if they do, well good for them." he said as he looked at his empty bottle and sighed. "I will be right back" he said as he got up and walked over to the bar, he came back a few minutes later with 4 bottles of Fire whiskey, he slid two to Spencer. "There you are." he said as he sat down.

Spencer simply nodded. A Ravenclaw. She didn't have a problems with Ravenclaws. Well most of them anyways. "I'm a Slytherin."Spencer said to Rydell with pride rising in her voice. Spencer could remember when she was sorted into her house. She had been so confused since her parents and siblings were never in Slytherin. But her confusion changed into pride in not long.
Spencer mentally slapped herself. Why in the hell was she going down memory lane every five minutes? She sighed and took a drink of her fire whiskey. "I will be right back" Spencer looked up at Rydell and nodded with a small, forced smile. She didn't smile much. When Rydell soon returned and gave her two bottles of fire whiskey, Spencer took the last few sips of hers and went to open another.
