Spencer sat alone in the library, forcing herself to read the incredibly large book before her. She was in desperate need of finishing her potions essay, and she really had no idea what to write. She kept her eyes opened wide, forcing them to look upon the pages. She had procrastinated long enough. There were only a couple days left until the essay was to be turned in. She mumbled a few profanities underneath her breath, and she slammed the book shut.
Spencer had sat in that spot for hours, and she had found nothing that really caught her eye. She wanted to sleep, but she really had no other choice but study. That was until that moment she had slammed the book shut. She need a break. It didn't bother her to read interesting things, but text books were simply boring to her. She stood up, stretched, and she began to wonder aimlessly around the library, trying her best find reasons to not go back to the table and study.

Scorpius was already finished with his Potions essay. He really didn't know why he didn't leave well enough alone. But of course he found himself in the library the night before it was due trying to find that something that was missing. Of course there was nothing missing, the essay already reached above and beyond the topic and required length as most of his assignments did. But he was a perfectionist and he had to be sure.
He was holding a book that had absolutely nothing to do with his topic, leafing through at quick pace tryign to find something he could add. Giving up he slammed the book shut and replaced it on the stack he was standing near. Frustrated with himself he decided maybe it wasn't meant to be, maybe the essay was just to be turned in as it was. No improvements necessary. But as he walked towards the door he was distracted by a book sitting unattended at a table.
The cover lookedl like it probably had alot to do with what he was writing about and so he figured it couldn't help to look through it, even if it wasn't technically his to look at. Opening the front cover he stopped short, eyes narrowing and a look of disgust written on his face. The name of the student who owned the book was written on the inside cover. Spencer Wood was magicked into the book in large sparkling green ink. That was just bloody perfect. Welll if the book was there Spencer was hardly far away. Scorpius tapped the book shut and stood up hoping to make a break for it before she noticed him.

Spencer had finally ran out of reasons to not finish her essay, so she reluctantly made her way back to her table, dreading the hard work that would be before her. Her attention was caught by a quarreling couple, and she looked at them with a hint of amusement before looking over at her table. She froze in her tracks, and glared at the sight before her. Scorpius Malfoy stood before her, seeming to suddenly be in a hurry as he read the cover. Spencer rolled her eyes, and she walked silently toward him.
"Hello, Scorpius."Spencer said in an icy tone. She and Scorpius did not see eye to eye since they had broken up. It seemed like ages ago, but Spencer still could not stand him. "Is there a particular reason you are standing there looking at my stuff?"she asked him as she grabbed up her books and bag.

shit.
Scorpius winced in pain when he heard her voice. He had effectively avoided speaking to her for the better part of the previous year, the annoyance of their feuds only more motivation to avoid her. He kept his head down in classes he actually had with her and made a point to stay far away from her in the Great Hall. Spinning on his heel he sneered at her. She was a beautiful girl, with a kind of magnifigance that seperated her from others. That's what had attracted him to her initally, but there was a evilness in her eyes and he knew it.
Shrugging indifferantly he looped his thumbs into the pockets of his pants, giving her a very emotionless look. That was the best decision he'd made all day, no need to let her know how much he was kicking himself for not being more careful. This was a big castle there was no need for them to have to interact.
"Spencer I apologize. Your book caught my attention, I thought maybe it would hold something I hadn't thought of adding to my essay. I was mistaken.
Slimy, yet satisfying. He knew she wasn't especially into studies and that she had to wrok at them. He'd enjoyed helping her when they'd been togehter, he loved the squeal she'd make when she'd get a good grade on something he helped her with. Shaking that thought away Scorpius glance around the library catching sight of the quarreling couple. That looked very familiar.

Spencer simply nodded at his apology, and folded her arms across her chest once she had shoved her books into her bag. She knew that Scorpius was already finished with his essay, of course. She also knew that he was probably now freaking out over making it even more perfect. That had always somewhat annoyed Spencer, but it turned into something she could not stand now.
"Of course. It's just not perfect enough for you is it? You really should just leave it as it is. I'm sure you will a good grade anyways."she said to Scorpius with a hint of annoyance in her voice. She could remember when he used to help her with all of her essays and school stuff. That period of time had to be the only time she ever made very good grades. It wasn't like she cared anyways anymore. She was making low grades good enough to pass, and that was good enough for her.
