Albus groaned as he got off the train. Groaning seemed to be what he did anymore. He'd groaned when he woke up this morning and when his dad pushed him onto the Hogwarts Express. He'd tried to hide, but he was still found. He had never been able to hide from his dad. He didn't want to be back. He hated school. The only good thing about it was that he was able to pull pranks and drive everyone crazy.
He got onto a carriage and sat, pouting, arms crossed and an evil look on his face. The look of a Slytherin. He always prided himself on that look. He supposed he got it from Severus Snape, one of his namesakes. It was a safe bet he didn't get it from any of his family. They were all too nice to have a Slytherin look. He was just glad that was the only thing he got from Snape. If he'd gotten his potions expertise as well, he'd be expected to pass the class and he'd gotten a P on his OWLs last year for that class. His dad had said that at least it wasn't a D, so now Albus was taken the class again to get a D.
He entered the school and the great hall doors were already opened. He walked through, giving everyone an evil glare. A few pointed at him and laughed. Yeah, he was a clown now. He was the Hogwarts Clown, not just the class clown. "Hey, Potter, what pranks do you have planned this year?" Yelled someone from the Hufflepuff table. "I'm not going to tell you," Al said, angrily. "Hey, Potter, leave the Slytherins alone this year." He just ignored that one. He knew it was from a Slytherin. He wasn't going to leave them alone.
He walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down, shooting daggers at the Staff Table. He wanted to curse one of them, maybe all of them. School over, go home early!! Sixth years don't have to return for seventh year next year! YES!! That was what Al wanted. He grinned for a moment and then that faded when he realized that that would never happen. They wouldn't send everyone home early and he had to return next year. Stupid teachers. One of the teachers must've seen him because he walked over. "Do you have a problem, Mr. Potter?" He asked, in his calm but authoritative voice. "Yes, my problem is you and this school." He then turned his back on the teacher and watched as the students came in.

Rose walked into the Great Hall, a little more confidently than she had done so many times before. The grades she had received from her O.W.L.S last year had done wonders for her nerves, at least.
Her eyes roamed over the Slytherin table impassively as she passed. It didn't look like that beaut...bastard Scrorpius had arrived yet, nor his cronies.
Without a second glance, Rose plopped down at her usual seat at the Gryffindor table next to Albus and brought out a book, propping it against a platter. She knew that her mum would kill her if she stained her textbooks, but she doubted that she would be that clumsy.
"Oh Alby...just let it go. Relax, this is going to be a great year. We'll have plenty of time to have fun...well, we still have to study, but there isn't as much pressure on us"

Albus saw Rose come in and look at the Slytherin table. He wondered what she was looking for. Malfoy wasn't there, yet, because if he was, he'd be lying on the floor stunned... or maybe worse. Albus couldn't control his wand sometimes. It liked to curse Slytherins without the knowledge of its owner. That was the reason Albus was usually in trouble for cursing Slytherins. It wasn't his fault. His wand did it.
Rose strode over to the table and sat next to him. "Oh Alby...just let it go. Relax, this is going to be a great year. We'll have plenty of time to have fun...well, we still have to study, but there isn't as much pressure on us"
"Oh, this year is already fun," he said. "The best part is that I already have a teacher mad at me." he then paused and said, "I know what'll cheer me up." He took out his wand and flicked it a few times, muttering something. Red and Gold streamers came out of it, flying all over the place. The Hall was soon covered. "This d**** wand again. Mind of it's own."
Then he pointed it at the Slytherin table, flicked it again, muttering something and soon the table was covered in dung beetles that started exploding in red and gold fireworks. He did the same to the staff table. He cracked up at that. "Maybe I should get a new wand. It seems to do stuff without my knowledge. "

"Oh please do." Lily approached the tinny group of Gryffindors that were huddling together, talking animatedly. "The house need not see another of your wand's bursts of magic. Although" She paused with a smile, waving to Rose and Albus as she drew closer. Tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear she shrugged. "that wand does seem to have a legend now. If only mine was spiffy like that." She glanced down with mock dejection at her ornate beech wood wand. "Anyway what's new?" She chirped, swinging into a seat. Looking up at her cousin and brother, she saw neither had changed much. Of course, it wouldn't seem so, she saw the pair nearly every day, or at least once a week in Rose's case. She nibbled on her lower lip, a bad habit she'd obtained over the years, and began bopping along to music that was stuck in her head from the ride to Hogwarts, though it was a while since she got off the train. ... and dance forever ever ever... The fact that no one could hear the beat, and only saw Lily dancing in her seat made the redhead look sort of weird, not that she cared however. Lily's motto was always 'Who cares what they think? They're not you. So whatever.'

Albus heard Lily and then turned to look at her. "I don't want a new wand, though," he said. "This one works fine, besides it having a mind of its own." He paused. "Well, it only does nasty stuff to the Slytherins and the teachers, so it's all good."
That had cheered him up for a bit, but soon Al was back in his bad mood. He had been wanting more of an outburst from the teachers for what he did. He had also wanted the students to react more. He turned back to the table and put his chin in his hand, continuing his evil glare at the teachers.
He saw one look at him and shake his head in disapproval. Al sneered at him. "Gee, I wonder why the teachers hate me. There's no student at this school that's better than me." Giving the teachers an innocent look, he went back to staring at the students walking in.

Lily rolled her eyes as she noticed the teachers glaring at Al. "I can't say I blame them, but I think their point was made. Teachers here overdo things all the time." She flapped a hand with a doubtful glance at the staff up in the front. Musing her personal ideas and schemes for awhile, she planned out the rest of her day. Lily was silent for a bit, frowning at nothing, in deep thought. This year had come quickly, and soon enough she would be in her last year, if the first five went this swiftly. She grimaced for a moment at the mere idea of that and then jerked her head up suddenly. Her hair, which was in a neat ponytail, swished and flew onto her left shoulder. "Do 5th years have to take Divination?" She asked, bemused. She hated that class, and was never good with 'the sight' asher professor had put it. In fact, Lily was horrible at it and always messed things up in class. Once again, she began nibbling at her lower lip, which had come to bleeding ever so slightly. Ignoring it, Lily looked at Al and Rose questioningly.

Valerie frowned. She hated her family, each and every one of them. She walked in through the double doors moodily, her brother tailing her. “Leave me alone!” She finally yelled at him and stormed into the Great Hall, only to catch the end of a very good prank. Red and gold streamers were everywhere and the Slytherins were freaking out as dung beetles crawled around there table. The same was happening to the staff table but they were a bit calmer about it.
Val laughed and looked around for the source of the commotion. Everyone seemed to be staring at the Gryffindor table and then she caught sight of them. It was the Potters and a Weasley. A small smile played on her lips. She walked over to them, if she wasn’t wearing a Hufflepuff uniform they would probably think she was a Slytherin and hex her. But she was a Hufflepuff and she decided that this year she was taking a stand against her parents. She was not going to act like a pure blood at all or a Flint. And if her parents had anything to say about that then they could very well come to Hogwarts and tell Val herself.
Val smiled at them. “Ya, you do. But not in sixth year thank god.” She answered the young Potter girl’s question. “Divination sucks.” She mused and pursed her rosy lips. “Val, by the way and brilliant prank.” She said to Albus and cast a glare towards the Slytherin table. “Hope he got some of that. Bloody stalker.” She muttered under her breath. Her brother looked over and glared. He didn’t like it that she was hanging around with Gryffindors and she knew that. He would write home and tell her parents. But this was the first step to her plan to be disowned. She cackled evilly in her head, not out loud of course because then she would look like a freak.

Everything had happened so quickly. Rose just saw Albus make the conjured dung beetles explode everywhere and the next thing she knew, Rose looked up with a grin and realised that Lily and Valerie were there as well! It had felt like only ten seconds. "Okay Albus, that's enough fun for now. I don't want to lose points for Gryffindor already, the year's only just begun. Besides, I don't mind being here." It was the truth. She just spoke about what she thought of Hogwarts. It wasn't bad, and there was plenty of stuff to do here. But... it was still a school, and Albus always had liked not doing his work.
"Let me guess, Uncle Harry is on your back again? Tell you what, how about you let me help you with your studies. I could tutor you. I got an O in everything last year except for.....
About that time Lily asked about Divination and Val took the words right out of her mouth "Nobody who is worth a salt cares about that bularkey anyways. It's an awful course, I could only manage to get an exceeds expectations. Luckily for me, they don't look at that as a requirement to begin Auror training"
Taking a deep breath, she raised a brow at Valerie, in a moment of recognition "Your Flint's sister aren't you?"

Albus was too busy being angry that he didn't even realize that his crush had come over. Yes, he had a crush on Valerie Flint. Of course, he didn't think she liked her. After all, she was a Flint. Still, she wasn't like her family, but he had a feeling his feelings for her weren't returned. That was why he would never tell her or anyone else.
Lily asked about divination and Val answered her, then Rose put in her bit. He wasn't going to get involved, but his mood had changed and he decided to put in his two cents on the subject. "The teacher is a fake. There's no way you can learn anything from that class. I skipped it when I had it." In fact, he had skipped most of his classes. No wonder he did horribly on his OWLs.
Rose asked if his dad was on his back again. The whole family knew of his problems with his dad. They fought at like every family get together. He was surprised that they were allowed to go to anymore, with all the fighting. "Yes, Harry's on my back again." He'd purposely called him Harry to see what she'd see. He'd been doing that alot lately and his dad didn't like it. "He got mad at me because I got a P on my Potions OWL. He said that I needed to get better grades this year or he would force me to stay in all summer." He paused, wondering why he was saying so much. "I told him that I'd take Potions again and get a D this time." She offered to help and he scoffed. "I don't need help with anything. I know what I'm doing."
It took awhile for him to realize that Val had given him a compliment. "Oh, thanks, Val," he said. "It was just a spare the moment type thing."
