“You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch him now, here he comes”Tuesday 2150 ish… James Potter James couldn't stop himself from laughing slightly harder when they came to a stand still, the look upon his girlfriends face, the pure fear that was shown only a moment ago turning into a smile to reflect his own was priceless. "Rule one of flying," he said to her as he pushed his weight down on the broom through his hands, allowing it to move slowly back down to the ground before he felt his Converse rubber soles touch the grounds of Hogwarts, "Don't get distracted." He nodded before dismounting the broom, waiting for her to do the same.
Moving his gaze from Brandi he looked over to Hogwarts, whatever had been going on in the Great Hall had now obviously stopped because behind the glass of the windows it was in darkness. In fact only a dozen or so windows were shining light through them, it had to be past midnight already. If they were caught by any teachers or prefects right now he would easily place bets that they were up for detention. Looking back to Brandi he smiled, "Best get back to the castle."

"It's your fault," she replied with a small laugh, swinging her leg over the side of the broom, feet planted firmly on the ground. "Next time, we'll walk," Brandi joked, putting her still freezing hands in to her jacket pockets. Nodding in agreement to his statement about getting back to the castle, she took one last look around the school grounds, soft smile on her face. She had had no idea a few hours ago as she had rushed out of the common room that the night would end like this, but she had no complaints. It had turned out better than she had anticipated.
"Come on Mr. Potter," she smiled as she stepped forward, removing her hand from her pocket to hold on to his. "You can walk me back to my room." Smiling, she walked with him back toward to the building, keeping one eyes out for any movement which would signify a ghost or professor. The last thing they needed right then was to be caught by Peeves and have every student know that they had been out after hours. Reaching the front doors, she pulled them open as softly as she could, holding it open for him to slip in through, planning on following in after him.

“You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch him now, here he comes”Tuesday 2150 ish… James Potter James raised his eyebrows when she opened the door for him to go through find and was about to take a step back, allowing her in before him before a thought occurred to him. If there did happen to be any teachers or prefects hanging about the entrance hall, as there normally were, at least he would get caught, not her and she could hide while he distracted them. There wasn't any point in them both getting into trouble now was there.
Taking his hand from hers he moved his head around the door to look inside, it was deserted. Maybe they didn't patrol on the first day back? However James highly doubted that one. Looking back to Brandi he nodded his head to her to let her know that their pathway was clear. "Come on then," he whispered as he placed his hand back into hers and pulled her into the large entrance hall. His eyes did not stop moving around them as they approached the doorway to the grand stair case, still completely deserted. "Where the hell is everyone?" he asked her but he knew that she would hardly know the answer to that.

Holding the door with one hand, her other in his, she let it shut behind them, guiding it in to place silently. Listening to see if she could detect any sound what-so-ever, all she could heard was James' steady breathing next to her. "I guess everyone went to bed early..." she said, finding it slightly odd that there were no obvious signs of patrolling by either teachers or prefects.
"Well, let's not just stand her like sitting ducks. The quicker we get back to the tower the better off we'll be. Shame it's seven flights up, though." Keeping her hand in his, she walked as silently as she could, not trusting herself not to knock over a suit of armor halfway down the hall. It was rather thrilling, however, knowing that they could be caught at any moment; sure, it wasn't the first time she had been out after hours, but normally when she slipped out it was by herself, and she didn't feel nearly as giddy and light as she currently did.

Pulling her classroom door shut behind her, Andy bitterly recounted that night during the feast. Some idiotic Gryffindor had set off fireworks and the entire hall was running amok. Quite frankly, she was more than glad to be heading back to her room; she would be sure to go out for Gryffindor blood tomorrow. Grumbling slightly to herself, she paused, listening to voices coming up the hallway. Narrowing her eyes, she turned to head toward the voices, thinking that maybe her night was looking up. Rounding the corner, she stood against the wall, wand flipping through her fingers, arms crossed as she waited for her victims to come closer. The look on student's faces when they realized they were caught doing something they weren't supposed to was always amusing, and tonight had no reason to be any different.

“You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch him now, here he comes”Tuesday 2150 ish… James Potter James kept his gaze on the stairs above them, looking for any signs of them no longer being alone but there was a deathly silence that surround them. Maybe the prefects were slacking off, the first day back to Hogwarts was always nakering for some reason. Looking to his girlfriend he laughed slightly at her reply, "Keeps us fit," he said with a nod, "Not that you need to be any fitter of course," a smirk crossed his lips for just a second before his gaze moved obviously down her body.
"Or we could be lazy of course." He held the broom out slightly, "Or perhaps we would just be asking to be caught if we cheated slightly...either way I really wanna get you back to the common room so I can erm...have some more...alone time with you." James raised his eyebrows as he bit down on his bottom lip before looking back to where they were walking.

Rolling her eyes affectionately, she nudged him with her elbow, saying, "you're more insane than I thought you were if you think there's any way I'll be getting on a broom stick with you anytime soon. My near death experience has taught be better," she joked. Brandi gave his hand a small squeeze when he mentioned heading back to the common room, her own smile tugging at her lips. "Well, I have to admit, I was rather reluctant to leave that fireplace. I'm looking forward to getting back to another one, and a couch."
Stepping up the last few steps of the flight of stairs, she jumped off the last one as she felt the school decide to start repositioning itself. Steadying her hand against the wall, she sent another smile over at James before peering around the corner. Eyes widening dramatically as she saw the outline of a figure, she pulled her boyfriend close to her, not wanting either of them to be seen. About to suggest they go back the way they had come, only to see the stairs ended against a wall; the only way was to head down the hallway toward the professor.

Pushing herself off the wall, she raised her eyebrow as darkness sounded her. It didn't take long before the a loud sound went off further down the hall. Standing up straight, she held out her wand in her right arm, eyes narrowing as she attempted to see who was there. "Lumos," she said, not bothering to lower her voice. If they could see the light from her wand then there was no reason to pretend not to be there. Holding her hand up above her head, she slowly made her way down toward where the small thing had come from, privately thinking that the care taker would not be happy with the mess that would need to be cleaned up.
Pausing mid step, she turned quickly back around, freezing the creature as it ran in the opposite direction. Revolving slowly on the spot, she narrowed her eyes, quickly becoming irate. While she had been looking forward to punishing a few rule breakers, she would much rather be in bed right then than chasing after some snot-nosed brats. Ignoring the ruckus behind her, she continued forward determinedly, smirk etched on to her face when she saw who it was. "Well, Mr. Potter. A Pleasure, as always. And young Ms. D'acanto. We seem to have quite a party going on here. May I ask what you two think you are doing out at this hour?"

One hand in her pocket, fingers wrapped tightly around her wand, Brandi had to forcefully stop herself from looking at James' with her jaw dropped. Where in the world had he pulled such a story from? She was both extremely grateful and remorseful at the fact that he had replied to their Professor first. It was a marvelously spun story, one which she certainly wouldn't have been able to come up with on her own, but at the same time she was sure that the woman in front of them was not going to be nearly as impressed as she was.
Wanting desperately to move her gaze on to her boyfriend, to see how he was doing with maintaining a straight face, she settled for for sliding her foot over the slightest bit to rest against his. Eyes staying on Professor Hunter's, she gave her best innocent smile, praying that she would buy it. Somehow, though, she didn't think his addition of them being rewarded was going to fly.

Listening to the tale Potter was spinning, she moved her gaze slowly from one gryffindor to the next, wondering how dense they must think their professors were. It most certainly was not the first time she had caught a pair of students together after hours, and she'd eat her wand if it was the last. Judging by the way he had his arm wrapped around her, there was no doubt in her mind what those two had been up to, and she was going to derive great pleasure from giving the both of them detention.
"Oh dear, that is quite a feat you two accomplished. I shall have to speak to the Head about finding you both a trophy for your efforts," she said in her best impersonation of being delighted. Pausing for a moment, she narrowed her eyes in mock confusion as she added, "there's just one thing. If the poor beast was gushing blood as you say, wouldn't you both have managed to get some on you? Surely such a feat as not getting dirty in such a situation would not have been possible. But of course, you may be well versed in the ways of cleaning charms. In that case, you wouldn't mind giving me a demonstration, would you? Shouldn't be too hard, not after the amount of sticky blood you have already cleaned."
Waving her free hand to the mess they had created behind her, she said, "can you clean this up for me? Vanishing charms won't be necessary; after all, we both know that one cannot vanish blood. A simple cleaning charm should suffice." Replacing her hand back unto its former place on her hip, she smirked at the two of them, waiting to see what would happen. Taking a step dramatically to the side, so as to give them as much space as possible to work with, she added as if in an after thought, "oh! And the amount of detention you'll be receiving depends on how well you can clean up this mess. After all - you were out after hours. Rules are rules, you know."

Feeling light hearted at the possibility of being able to get away with their escapade, that James' crazy story might actually save them. That was until, of course, the professor asked them about the blood. Heart racing, she felt her stomach drop at the prospect of having to prove one way or another their story. Looking sideways at her partner in crime, listening as he tried to yet again talk their way out of trouble, she placed her hand on top of his briefly. She had learned earlier that evening that he was, quite frankly, shit at performing cleaning spells. She wasn't much better at them, but she wasn't going to stand there and let him go about this alone.
"Of course, Professor," she said, looking once more over at James, trying to tell him with her eyes that it wasn't going to do any good arguing. Brandi had to at least try, and she wouldn't forgive herself if she didn't. Not willing to move out of his arm, she let her eyes settle on Professor Hunter's for a half second before removing her wand from her pocket. Giving a flick of her wrist toward the lightly dispersing smoke, she muttered a soft "scourgify," praying that it would work.

OOC: right - so to make this easier on the both of us I'm going to severely god-mod myself. Figure it's basically the same thing.
Watching expectantly to see what would happen, Andromeda felt a self satisfied smirk cross her face as less than half of the black smoke cleared away. Turning to look at the Watson girl, she opened her mouth to speak when she heard the words she then said. "We cleared everything off our clothes with the spell and washed off in the bathroom on the first floor." Pausing for a long moment to look back and forth between the two students before her, Andromeda said slowly, "You both will be serving three night of detention. One night for being out after hours. Another for creating a mess and leaving it here for the Caretaker, and the last for wasting my time. You two are off to a wonderful start to the school year. See you tomorrow night at seven."
Turning her back on the two, she headed further down the hallway not really caring about the mess that had been left behind. She didn't have to clean it up so it didn't much matter to her. It was long past midnight and she had to be up early tomorrow to supervise breakfast. Pointless really, but she had no choice in the matter, and there was no way she was going to stay there any longer dealing with two immature children.

Jaw dropping down and mouth opening into a small "o" shape, Bandi followed her professor's descent down the stairs in slight shock. No, it wasn't the first time she had had detention before, but never one that lasted so long. Closing her mouth with an audible snap, she turned disbelieving eyes upon her boyfriend, taking in his cheeky grin. Was he actually happy with them having landing detention? That was rather hard to believe but she too began smiling after his comment about how they could use it to their advantage. Smirking at his wink, she replied quietly with, "I'm looking forward to it Mr. Potter. It's about time someone taught you some manners."
While that statement was not entirely true, in fact he could be quite the charmer when he put his mind to it, the banter was fun nonetheless, and the thought of a pleasant few days in detention with him was suddenly looking a lot better. Letting him take her hand, squeezing it gently, they made their way through the darkness, using her free hand to attempt to wave some of the smoke out of her way. She did feel for the poor person who would be cleaning up the mess, wishing for their sake as well as hers and James that her cleaning spell had worked. Would have saved a lot of trouble.
Pushing it out of her mind, she was thankful when they exited the black segment of hallway, smiling when the sound of the Fat Lady's snores reached her ears. That woman could sleep through a hurricane but her snores had been known to wake up the entire tower. Rather amusing really. Greeting the woman's glare with a smile and a small wave of her hand, she was feeling oddly reckless. Sure it was nothing to brag about, but she had just landed three days detention; she didn't think that they could possibly get in to any more that night. "I think I have to take back the manners comment," she teased him, honestly flattered he was letting her go before her. It wasn't the first time that night, but it was still a nice gesture.
Taking a tentative peak in to the common room, looking around to see if there were any late nighters camping out on the couches, she took a step in when she noted the room was clear, waiting behind the portrait hole for him to follow. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she smiled teasingly, saying, "now... I believe you said something about a couch and a fireplace." While not planning on going further than they had in the Three Broomsticks, not this night at any rate, she was not looking forward to going to bed and waking up the next morning to find out that this had all been some in depth dream. Loath to admit it, she was scared that he would realize that this was all a mistake, and that her actually couldn't stand the thought of being with her. Maybe she stayed up all night then the morning would actually come and she could relax, knowing that this night had really happened.

Smiling softly as he lit the fire in the grate, she willingly followed his hand to the couch, slipping out of her now dirty slippers. Climbing over one leg, she rested her back against his chest and her feet against the opposite arm rest, immediately feeling the effect of the fire warming her toes. Bringing one hand up to rest upon his around her, she moved her other one to his leg, drawing aimless pictures upon the fabric that covered it. Having sat up a bit to help him with her hair, she nearly went boneless when she felt a pair of lips dance across her neck. Shivering for a much different reason then the one he was asking about, she gave a small sound that was meant to be a no, but she wasn't quite sure she got the point across. While Brandi had been admittedly cold both outside and on the lower floors, she had forgotten all about that when they had encountered Professor Hunter, and certainly his warm breath upon her skin as he spoke softly was giving her a chill that had nothing to do with the temperature of the room.
Head having rolled over to the side of its own violation, she straightened it back up, poking his leg lightly with her finger. "Not if you keep doing that," she finally managed to get out, not having been satisfied with the noise she had made earlier. Removing her one hand from his leg to join her other one upon his arms, she tilted her head so that she could look up at him, slightly upside down. "You?" she asked with a gentle smile upon her face. She wasn't sure if it was simply being so relax in his arms, the time, the dancing flames in the fireplace, or a combination of the three, but was suddenly more comfortable than she could ever remember being. In fact, if she wasn't careful she could quite easily fall asleep right there, in James Potter's arm, and be more than content. The thought of what other people would say later in the morning when they found out didn't cross her mind, and to be honest right then it didn't matter. He was her boyfriend, and there was no way she was giving that up because of some gossip and comments made by others.

Eyes closing when she felt the gentle press of his lips against her own, she smiled at the upside-down kiss, enjoying simply laying there in his arms. Keeping her eyes on his when he pulled back, she literally warmed from the inside out at his reply to her question. Rolling over on to her side, she nuzzled her nose in to his chest, sighing at both the comfortable position and the faint smell of their dinner that had been trapped in the fabric. Humming in appreciation, she closed her eyes once more, feeling her fingers being twined by his; the feel of his hand surprisingly familiar. Wondering idly if her cheeks were going to hurt the next morning due to the amount of smiling she had been doing in the past few hours, she smiled once more. Perhaps it was simply a continuation of the one she had been wearing before, but nonetheless this one was softer, warmer. "I think we should give it a try," she mumbled.
It would take a national disaster to get her to willingly leave the couch right then. She could picture James' face, eyes closed, mouth much the same way, head resting comfortably against the arm rest. Brandi had come in late last year to find him sprawled out over the couch, apparently exhausted from the day before. That moment had caused her to still mid step, eyes taking in the features of the sleeping man. She had come very close taking a seat in the armchair, watching him as he slept, but the thought of being caught was too terrifying. At least now, if by some chance she woke up first, she could study his face once more, with no fear of repercussions. Unless, of course, they woke up and he changed his mind. Refusing to think about that, she left her mind relax, wrapping her free arm around his side, hugging him as if he were his pillow. Granted, he was a better smelling and much more comfortable pillow than she had ever found. She half wished for a blanket to wrap around them, but the heat from the fireplace was more than plentiful, and she hadn't taken off her jacket since they had come inside. Content with the way things were, she completely relaxed against him, knowing that it would be only a matter of moments before she drifted off.
