Arielle couldn't sleep. She simply couldn't. On this warm spring night the full moon cast beams into the dorm. Letting out a groan, she turned onto her stomach and hid her head underneath a pillow. Her body was restless and didn't want to settle down for the night.
Letting out an aggravated sigh, Arielle threw the covers off of her short-clad legs and placed her feet on the cool stone floor . She walked over to her wardrobe and put on a pair of jeans and a lacy camisole along with her favorite pair of sandals. As she got ready to head out the door of the common room, she remembered to grab her wand. She ran back to her dorm and grabbed her wand and shut the door behind her.
As she quietly made her way through the castle, Arielle gritted her teeth. She could never sleep when it was warm out and when there was a full moon. Slipping out the front doors, she glanced around to make sure no professors were out and about at night on duty. When she had finished checking she headed to her favorite place, the Black Lake.
When she reached the shore she smiled to herself as she looked around to see if any professors were out doing patrol agian. Since it was a nice night and Arielle really didn't feel like taking off her clothes to go for a swim, she decided to take her animagus form. As she focused she felt her state changing from human to animal. Vanessa had become an animagus.
She had turned into a tall and beautiful blue roan horse with a white pair of stockings and a bold snip on her muzzle. Arielle had always liked turning into the independent horse and running around the lake. The horse wondered around the lake and stopped. She walked into the lake , letting the gentle current wash over her tall legs. She threw her neck and let out a soft whinny as she got her long black mane out of her eyes.
Arielle knew that if anyone was to be coming out to the lake tonight, that they'd be drawn to the "horse". It was a trick that Arielle had been glad to master because she could scare her fellow classmates by rearing and biting them to make them go back inside. She hadn't used this trick much at Hogwarts, but at home she had done it to scare her brother who hated animals.
