A pair of dark brown eyes met the ceiling. The eye's owners let out a groan of frustration and turned over. Arielle looked blankly at the wall. Letting out a soft sigh, she threw her covers off of her long legs. The cool air rushed to meet her bare flesh, which was a relief from the stuffy atmosphere underneath the sheets. As she tossed her legs over the side of her bed, she swept her mess of banks out of her eyes.
After getting out of bed, Arielle walked over to her window. She drew the crimson curtains aside and took in the grounds. As she glanced out, she noticed the full moon peaking far above the castle. Of course she couldn't sleep. There were two things that made the girl not able to sleep: heat and moonlight.
Arielle turned her back to the scene on the grounds and to her vanity. She quietly pulled a pair of jeans and a sweater out of her drawers and slipped them on. Her dark eyes gazed back at her as she drew her long hair back into a ponytail. Narrowing her eyes, she looked around for her shoes. After about 5 minutes of searching she found them, right where she had put them earlier that night. Stuffing her wand in her pocket and taking one last glance at her appearance, the girl headed out the door to the Common Room.
After quietly slipping out of the Common Room, Arielle stealthily made her way down the carpeted hallway to the moving staircases. Unlike other students, she didn't need to use Lumos just to make her away around. She made her way on the still staircase and waited for it to move. The girl quickly was at the stairwell of the Great Hall, ready for adventure.
Arielle slipped out of the front door, making her free bound. A slight smile emerged on her face as she made her way down to the lake. The lake was probably her favorite place on the grounds, beside the greenhouses. The lake was a popular favorite, and usually she didn't visit the lake on a sunny day when a bunch of students were out. Sure, it might make her seem a bit unsocial, but hey, she didn't like big crowds. One could probably find her out at night since she enjoyed the serene settings better at night anyways.
As she let her eyes take in the scene before her, Arielle settled in for a seat underneath the trees. She rested back on the palm of her hands and gazed up at the night sky. Wow was it beautiful. It seemed like there were a million diamonds in the sky, just within her grasp. As she titled her neck back to its normal position, the moonlight's reflection off the lake's surface caught her attention. The water was rippling softly on this night.

Snoring. Lots and lots of snoring. Why wouldn’t it stop? It had to stop eventually. Scorpius was sure if whichever roommate of his was snoring did not soon one of two things would happen. Either the boys skull would implode from the pressure or it would be bashed in by Scorpius himself. Why on earth couldn’t this fool research some spell to at least muffle the sound. That was enough. With one last snort from the bed across the room the blonde thrust himself from bed towards the trunk sitting at the end of it. Opening it hastily he withdrew a pair of black jeans and a grey button up shirt. It might be the middle of the night but he didn’t want to take time to find a clean tshirt. Pulling the Jeans on and doing up the shirt he made his way out of the dormitory and through the common room.
It took Scorpius until he made connection with the cool floor of the dungeon corridor to realize he’d forgotten a key element of his outfit: shoes. Too late now, there was no way he was going back into that room. He could finally hear himself think again. Once to the Entrance Hall he pushed the doors open and slipped outside. Taking a moment as the air hit him Scorpius closed his eyes and breathed in the scent of the grounds. He loved the smell of grass. It was a silly thing to think about but it was so soothing, a scent you could find almost anywhere.
How many memories did he have of this grass? Falling down in it, rolling around in it, Sleeping on it. He’d spent six years here already. Some called this castle their home; Scorpius knew better. In less than a year they would be out in the real world. Less than half of them would keep in touch. They would never see most of the people again in their life. There was no reason to feel like this was home. He himself though of it as more of a stepping stone. Enough time spent here would help him on what he really wanted to achieve in life.
Scorpius’ moment passed when he heard the doors of the school start to open behind him. Slipping being a nearby gargoyle just in cause it was a professor making the rounds around the grounds. But no, it was not a professor. Instead a lovely brunette was making her way out of the castle, the wind slightly picking at her hair as she walked. So someone else couldn’t sleep tonight. He wondered what this girl’s issues with the night were. At that moment the unknown figure stepped into the moonlight.
Ah, Arielle. Scorpius felt a smile creep across his lips but it as immediately replaced with his usual cold expression. He hadn’t seen her since they’d gotten to school. Of course he hadn’t contacted her over the summer, why would he? She was a Gryffindor, that would have been unacceptable especially if his parents found out he was in correspondence with her. He wondered if she thought of him; he had to admit that at times he had found himself thinking of her at times. Of course he’d never say that out loud, even to her. Ashamed wasn’t a word he would say either, at least not to her. Maybe to himself. Maybe that was why he was pausing so long wondering whether or not he should go after her.
Arielle’s silhouette had settled behind a tree near the lake and Scorpius’ eyes hadn’t left her while she’d made the journey. Finally deciding to venture towards her he made sure to keep to the shadows and chose a path that would go undetected. Reaching the tree she had taken shelter under, Scorpius stood on the other side of the tree watching her from behind for a moment.
Fancy meeting you her. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure you’re outside of that tower of yours after hours.

Arielle turned her head when she heard a familiar voice behind her. She glanced up and saw a friend of hers, Scorpius. The two hadn't talked at all during the summer, but neither one of them seemed to mind too much. He was a Slytherin, and she was a Gryffindor. Talk about a forbidden relationship. Oh well, as long as no one figured out about their meetings, which no one did, they were fine.
Sure, it kind-of made Arielle a bit angry that they couldn't atleast take their friendship to public, but once the storm blew over she was fine. Besides, it wasn't like they were dating or anything. Arielle had to admit that they had hooked up a few times, but it didn't really mean anything. Was it? She didn't think so, atleast not at the moment..
A subtle smirk arose on her face as she quirked her eyebrow. " Oh, my dear friend. I think you would know by now that I don't follow the rules."she said, her words laced with sarcasm. She really didn't believe in following the rules. She was friends with him, didn't that break enough rules already?
" Sit, tell me about your summer, oh mysterious one."Arielle said laughing softly. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she had missed him over the summer. Not too bad, but enough to notice. She looked up and saw his blonde locks brush over his dark eyes.
That was probably one of the things she liked about him. Arielle just liked how mysterious he was. She was always up for a challenge, and she tackled his attidude full on. It was just her nature and she couldn't help it.

Scorpius couldn’t help but smile when she turned to him. He liked the way she looked at him, like she was happy to see him. Not many people looked at him like that. He didn’t care for many people looking at him. Something tugged at him telling him, as always, that she was no one he should be caring for. Chuckling when she mentioned how she didn’t follow the rules he nodded.
“I suppose you’re right.”
Moving to sit next to her he lowered himself down to lean against the tree. If it had been daylight he wouldn’t have dared sitting this close to her, even if she was in Slytherin. But he had to admit that he liked to be close to her. In all honesty he wanted to be as close to her as possible. He had missed her over the summer and was glad he had run into her. It would have been rather difficult to get in touch with her had they not had this chance meeting and he had wanted to.
Leaning his head back against the tree he sighed.
“My summer was uneventful. Boring, really. I’m glad to be back. How was yours?”
Glancing over at her he took in her brown hair and her soft features. That was something he especially liked about her. She wasn’t like any of the Slytherin girls, she didn’t hide behind herself, he didn’t need to guess about what she was thinking. He trusted her for some reason when he knew he shouldn’t. She was a Gryffindor and he was a Slytherin and that was really all there was too it. Wasn’t it? Did he really care? Or was it just what had been drilled into him from an early age by his father and grandfather?
Maybe it was sleep deprivation taking over him or maybe it was just not knowing exactly what he was feeling but something drove him to start searching the ground next to him with his hand. It met hers and his fingers curled around the small digits loosely, more of a friendly gesture than an ‘I-wanna-hold-your-hand’ gesture. Turning towards her he spoke again, his voice less backed this time, less sure of himself.
“I missed you a bit.”
He wasn’t this person. He wasn’t the type of guy to say that to people. He didn’t expose himself to people like this, especially not girls, especially not Gryffindors. But there was something a bout her, something that made him feel content, honest. He didn’t need to play games with Arielle, that wasn’t necessary really, putting on a show hadn’t gotten him anywhere with her before so why should he waste either of their time with it?

Arielle laughed softly as he stated about her following the rules. It was true though. How many Gryffindors and Slytherins were friends? Try none. Well not in public, if there were any. If any of her friends were to discover that she had been hanging around him, they would probably disown her. At least for a little while. There were some girls that had a secret crush on him, but that wasn't the way of her friends.
When he sat next to her, Arielle looked over at him and smiled softly. They only were this close during their secret meetings. Come to think of it, the two hadn't had any meetings that weren't private. They shared brief glances at meals and in the halls, but that was about it in the public's eye. She kind-of wanted to take their friendship to public, but she knew they couldn't take that risk. The both of them would be judged because of that by their house-mates. It would be worse for him, since he had more on the line than she did.
" Eh, it was okay. My family and I went to Wales to visit some family, but that was it. I'm glad to be back too."Arielle said remembering the summer that had gone by so fast. She usually spent her days out at the beach near her house. That's why she always was so tan when she arrived back. This year she felt a little self conscious, so she decided to cut off going to beach 2 weeks before the start of the term. It had worked perfectly, she still had that golden glow, but not too much.
Arielle felt his hand wrap around hers loosely and she looked at him. When he said he had missed her it surprised her a bit, although it shouldn't have. It was safe to say they were friends and all things like that. It was just she wasn't used to him saying things of this kind. " I missed you too."she said. She really did miss him during the summer. She even thought about owling him a letter once or twice, but she knew if his parents were to find out about it, they would not be happy.
Arielle brought her gaze to the lake for a moment before looking back at him. Everyone said that she had the eyes of a doe, always soft and sympathetic. She agreed with them, but sometimes she didn't want to be the girl with the doe eyes. She wanted to be a bit more adventurous and wild. Besides, she only had two years left. She didn't really want to be forgotten about. Although everyone would probably forget about each other after they left this place.

Scorpius was different with Arielle and he wasn’t exactly sure why. Or maybe it was that he didn’t want to admit why. Usually with girls, especially those outside of Slytherin, he would just give them a hard time and make them feel stupid or unworthy. It was true he had tried that with her at first but had found she didn’t really respond to that kind of baiting so he had changed his tactics. He hadn’t meant to become friends with her, it had just happened. They would run into each other on nights such as this when they would both be wandering, meet in secluded parts of Hogsmeade, anywhere people couldn’t see them or detect them .
He didn’t talk to her much outside their rendezvous. In fact he didn’t think he talked to her at all other than when they were alone. It wasn’t as if he had much choice about that part though. They weren’t in any classes together because she was a year younger than him and he was hardly about to walk up to her in the Great Hall. That would be a site to see, a Malfoy infringing on the Gryffindor’s breakfast table. He’d probably be stoned on the spot. It was true sometimes he would hear something and want to share it with her and sometimes he would see her and almost say something to her but stop himself. His family would never understand. For that matter neither would her family.
It wasn’t as though he had any friends to judge him, he’d never considered himself especially close to anyone in his House. But he couldn’t risk anything getting back to his father about him and some Gryffindor girl. Sure, he wanted to be able to be seen in public with her, to make her feel like he wasn’t ashamed of her. Because he wasn’t, he wasn’t ashamed of her, he wasn’t ashamed of anything. Shame meant you felt inferior, something Scorpius would not allow himself to feel. The part of himself that tried to justify would say he was trying to protect them, make life easier for both of them. The selfish part of himself would say that he didn’t want his father to get mad at him, as he knew would happen.
Scorpius watched her look out at the lake, her eyes catching the moonlight briefly. A faint smile touched his lips as he looked at her. It’d been months since they’d sat together, even before school had ended. He had been so busy with exams and being bombarded by people trying to be his friend at the last minute that he hadn’t had a chance to see her before leaving. He’d regretted that all summer.
He found himself thinking about her laugh. She had the prettiest laugh. People at his manor didn’t laugh like that though. That was one thing about Slytherin’s he would never admit to anyone that he didn’t like. Either they had deep, hollow laughs or else they wouldn’t laugh a t all, only smile as though they knew a secret he didn’t. People from the other houses though, they laughed as though the world was going to end, like no one was judging them. And no one probably was, except of course for the Slytherins.
Squeezing her hand softly when she said she had missed him too he couldn’t help but feel a little happy. He couldn’t rightfully say that anyone had really said that to him before. He didn’t really interact with people enough for them to express having missed him.
“What are you thinking about?”
He could tell something was going on behind those eyes of hers and he was curious. Was she trying to find a way out of this situation? Was she planning something? He wanted to know. He wanted to be in on the secret.

" Oh, I'm just thinking about how comical it all is."Arielle said chuckling softly. " Everyone thinks they're going to know eachother for all of their lives, but as soon as we leave this place we forget about 99% of the people we knew here." She shrugged her shoulders. It was true. There so many students that thought they were going to be friends forever or couples forever. One second they were fine and the next they hated eachother.
Drama. That was one thing that Arielle didn't like. Actually that was an understatment. She liked watching drama, not being in it.It was a love-hate relationship, and a conditional one at that. Oh well, atleast she wasn't making trouble for herself every second of the day like some of her house-mates. She never thought she would be stuck with such an idotic group of guys. They same ones were in all of her classes except the ones she disliked. Like Potions. Why couldn't the loud, obnoxious ones be in her hated classes? Thats the way things worked in the world.
Arielle briefly wondered if they'd keep in touch after he left in June. As much as she wanted to think that they would, she had to be realisitic. His family would basically shun him if they were to find out the relationship between them. She never understood why people cared about their reputation so much. The girl really didn't care what people thought of her, and she wished he did too, but that didn't come with his job as a Slytherin and deffinatly not as a Malfoy either.
Arielle could almost be certian that at home his parents expected the upmost best out of who he ran around with. Just to keep up the family name's reputation. The reputation for what, being cold? Being bitter? Being sinster? She didn't understand it, and she had to refrain herself from getting in an argument over it with him. Her family didn't really care who she hung around with, as long as it wasn't someone who would get her into trouble.
Scorpius was trouble to her parents. Arielle had casually asked them what they would do if she were to tell them that the two were friends. They told her that they thought he was trouble and would strongly disagree agianst it. It kind of made her sad, that they had to keep their relationship secret. He would never know that and no one would never know about their secret meetings. That was just the way it had to be. It was the best for the best of them.
Letting out a soft sigh, Arielle re-adjusted herself on the ground since her legs were falling asleep. She looked at the rippling water. It was a beautiful night and she was almost certian that the water felt great. If he wasn't here, she would gladly go swimming stark naked. Although it wasn't like he hadn't seen her without clothes on before...She would never admit it to anyone, but they did hook-up a few times. It was pleasant, and they both enjoyed themselves. He wouldn't have asked her agian after the first time if he hadn't enjoyed it.
Arielle looked down at her hands and the put her arms back behind her for support once more. As she tilted her head upwards, she took in the beauty of the stars. Even if one wanted to, they could never count them all in one sitting. There were just so many, and they rotated every night so you couldn't just keep track. She had tried it once and it hadn't worked. " It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" she asked, her eyes still peering up at the night sky.

Scorpius nodded, keeping his lips pursed. She was, of course, voicing his own personal opinion about why having friends who you kept around was relatively pointless. Sure, there were loads of people who had met their mate at Hogwarts. Several of the people in his fathers class, he had been told, had ended up marrying each other. It was possible to hold onto friendships, you just had to care enough, something Scorpius was not entirely sure he was capable of doing in regards to people at Hogwarts. And yes, he had watched those same types of people as she had. The ones who would walk down the halls and scream at each other and hang all over each other and tell people what they would be doing together in ten years or so. It was a bit more plausible for seventh year students than it was for the third years who behaved as such. But still, it was the beginning of the year, anything could happen in the next few months.
Glancing at Arielle he sighed. He was going to miss her when he left school. She still had a year left after him and he almost kicked himself for not paying any mind to her earlier. Of course what was the point really? He was sure at some point she would get sick of hiding their friendship and put an end to it all together. At least this way he would be able to get away from her soon after that happened. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to keep in touch with her after school, it would just be complicated and hard to explain why they were friends outside of Hogwarts and never had been while attending. Granted, he had a hope, far-fetched as it may have been, that maybe once he left this school ranks and which house you were in wouldn’t matter so much, people would just be people. But he knew better than that.
And people weren’t just people to him. He hated the Potters with a passion. Not necessarily because they were in Gryffindor, but it helped. He knew Arielle was rather close with both of the boys and it irked him so much that he had often times had to blow her off for one of their little meetings just to keep from chewing her out about it. He hated that they could talk to her when people were around, that they could laugh with her and no one would think twice about it. It was just another thing to add to the list of why the potters sucked.
It wasn’t that Scorpius didn’t want to be able to interact with Arielle publicly. At times that was all he wanted to do. He was tired of putting on the same face with all of the people in his House, the one where they would all just judge everyone else and think themselves better than all the other people in the world. That got old really fast. Yes, Scorpius did feel a bit of authority over many people but he didn’t necessarily want to sit around and talk about how much better he was all the time. He wanted to do things like this. He wanted to be able to just sit with someone and want to be near them and do something pointless. Not everything needed to have a point.
His parents knew nothing about what he did at school. Nor did they care, really, he didn’t think. While he knew when Draco had been at school Lucius had been right there every step of the way, his father didn’t choose to interfere like that. He liked his life the way it was and he didn’t want to screw that up for himself. Scorpius wasn’t really sure how he would react if he knew his son was fraternizing with a girl from Gryffindor. That would be an interesting conversation. It could go one of two ways. Either Draco would trust his sons judgement and say “well at least its not the Potter girl”, or else he would murder Scorpius. As of yet the Slytherin wasn’t entirely sure whether what he and Arielle had was worth being killed for. In fact, he wasn’t really sure whether he and Arielle had anything. He thought they did, but who knows what she thought about him really.
Yes they’d hooked up a few times and it’d been great, wonderful even. But Scorpius felt horrible using her like that when he wouldn’t even look at her when he saw her in the hall. She was worth more than that and he couldn’t give that to her. It was odd, Scorpius caring about the feelings and what some girl deserved, but he did. He should just be laughing and saying “Well, she’s a Gryffindor, what more does she expect from me”. But he knew she should expect – demand more than she was getting if she wanted more.
He had lost his train of thought looking at her, faintly aware of the rippling of the lake and the sound of crickets surrounding them. When she spoke again, though, he was pulled from his trance and looked up, following her gaze. The stars had never really interested him, he knew nothing of constellations or astronomy. His head was always buried in a potions book or an encyclopedia of Charms. But they were a beautiful site. He nodded, not sure even if he had disagreed whether he would have expressed it to her. She had a way with making him not be able to be snide and he didn’t like it but at the same time it was alright with him. Very strange emotions this girl brought out in a Malfoy.
“I suppose it is. Shame to waste it inside sleeping; But I suppose we’re the smart ones, out here enjoying it.”
He glanced at her again. The sudden urge to do something spontaneous overtook him. Scorpius usually thought things through very carefully before doing them, which is why it had taken him so long to end up out on the grounds instead of lying in bed listening to that infernal racket. And now he wanted to do something fun, something he would never dream of doing with anyone else. He wasn’t quite sure what that was yet but he was sure they’d come up with something.
“Let’s do something. Sort of a year opener. It’s my last year here. I think we should make it one to remember. What do you think?”
He smirked at her. This was unlike him and he knew it. But maybe…just maybe it was time for a change. His whole life he had spent seeking revenge on a family of Potters. He would get his revenge, but maybe there was more to life than that. Perhaps he had been missing out on something wonderful.

Arielle got a wide grin on her face when she heard him say something about a year-opener. " I know the perfect thing"she said getting up quickly. She ran over to the shore and looked back at him. " What are you waiting for? Come on!"she said laughing before facing the lake once more. And then the fun began. She took off her shirt and bra, revealing her bare back to him. As she did the same with her bottoms, she threw them besides a rock and jumped in the cool water.
Arielle chuckled as she came up from the rippling water. She quickly swept her water-drenched hair from her eyes and looked around. It was a beautiful night, and her prediction was right. The water was perfect. The girl had always been spontaneous. Just not around Scorpius because she wasn't too sure how he'd respond to it. She decided to let loose tonight because he was right, it was his last year at the school. Why not make it memorable?
As she swam around a bit, Arielle couldn't help but think about when they had their hook-ups. It made a smirk come to her face. They were in the same situation as after the ordeal. They both were stark naked. Only time would tell if tonight was going to end up like nights previous. Hopefully he would loosen up and come in the water with her. If he didn't, she would probably have burnt cheekbones for at least 2 weeks. She wouldn't even be able to talk to him.
The lake was so much more beautiful at night than during the day. The area had a feeling of mystique to it and there wasn't any loud chatter to ruin the time that the two were sharing. Arielle really did like the lake, but one wouldn't find her out and about it during the day. It was too crowded for her liking during the day. Sometimes she even stayed up late just to sneak down to the lake since she had such a strong urge to visit it that day, but wouldn't because of the other students.
Arielle's long brunette hair floated around her shoulders as she moved around in the water. The moon illuminated her skin and hair, giving her an almost glowing effect. Her eyes gazed around the familiar landscape, but somehow it seemed different. Maybe it was just being with Scorpius. For the longest time she had wanted him to let go and just enjoy himself like she did, but that didn't pertain to his house rules. She even wondered if he actually wanted to change.
Arielle didn't think it was worth it just to put on a fake face for the world to see. She thought probably deep down he had a softer side to him, but he didn't show it. He had shown his soft side to her briefly, like earlier when he had said that he missed her. Of course he had only shown it momentarily since he didn't want to let his protective guard down. Sometimes she just wanted to scream at him: What are you so afraid of hiding!?!?! You don't have to act cool around me!! She wouldn't go off on him though. It really wasn't his fault.
As much as she hoped, Arielle knew that she couldn't be friends with him forever. It truly saddened her, but she had to face it. They were from two different worlds. And no matter how much she was tired of pretending, she couldn't be in a relationship by herself. If they did stay friends after Hogwarts, hopefully the world wouldn't judge them as much. The only thing she worried about was what their parents would say. It wasn't so much of her mother that had the problem it was her father.
Arielle's father had grown up being horribly teased by the Slytherins. He hated them with a passion. Besides, what would her friends say? Her best guy friends were Potters and a Weasley and one of her best friends was a Weasley girl. How really twisted fate could be. She couldn't possibly betray her friends, but she didn't want to let go of Scorpius either. Hopefully some day she wouldn't have to choose, but the possibility was heavily risky.

Scorpius was rather shocked when she immediately jumped up and took off towards the water. At first he just thought she was going to walk in fully clothed, which would have been fairly comical when she emerged drenched and made her way back to her common room. But all of a sudden she was taking her clothes off, baring her back to him first and then the rest of her. He felt his mouth open a bit and he breathed in sharply. She was a fairly beautiful girl, he’d always known that, even before he would speak to her. And yes they’d hooked up previously but he hadn’t really been looking at her full on then. But there she was just standing in the moonlight completely exposed, light shining off her slightly tanned skin, reflecting at all angles. And then she was in the water, emerged, the image stolen from his sight.
While his vixen companion was under the water Scorpius took advantage of the time to regain himself. It wouldn’t do well for her to see how affected he was by her. He stood up and made his way over to the bank of the lake, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans, feeling the wet grass under his bare feet. When she emerged he laughed.
“You were entirely too prepared to strip down when I said that. Are you trying to tell me that you’d been sitting here considering it this whole time?”
He knew she had. He knew from here-say around the school that she was quite spontaneous and known to do some extremely crazy things. He had never seen that side of her. That’s not to say of course that he didn’t like it. Secretly Scorpius wanted to be able to just throw the rule book away and do things his own way or do something completely crazy like take off his clothes and jump into a lake with a giant squid in it. But he didn’t hang out with people like that, he wasn’t used to it. Reaching up to ruffle his hair and get it out of his eyes Scorpius was fairly certain his own cheeks were burning a shade of red. There was a girl swimming naked in the water and he was standing out here like some blundering idiot. Well if he wanted to preserve this friendship he was thinking that he probably had to follow her in.
Still laughing the blonde unbuttoned his shirt, folding it and depositing it next to her own outfit. After doing the same with his jeans and boxers he too emerged himself in the water, feeling extremely self conscious and exposed. Scorpius knew he had a nice body, he made sure of it. Imperfection was not an option for him. But even the best looking people had their insecurities and he was no exception, especially since the person seeing him was Arielle and as it seemed, this was another thing she made him think differently about.
When he surfaced Scorpius reached up and brushed his hair out of his face again. Upon being wet it had plastered itself to his forehead and no matter how many times he moved it, the strands just kept replacing themselves there. Finally, seeing that it was in vain that he was attempting to rectify the situation Scorpius just let them lie. Swimming over towards Arielle he grinned.
“I hope you know that this is no competition the most insane thing I’ve done at this school. And with a Gryffindor not less. Go figure.”
Scorpius had the strong urge to touch her but upon thinking that he became keenly aware of their nakedness. Now naked Scorpius would have been fine with that but when you add naked Arielle into the mix the result would probably not have turned out as he was currently leaning towards. So he restrained himself and instead just smirked at her. This was ridiculous and his parents would never approve, particularly his mother. She had a thing about him and girls, especially him and girls without articles of clothing on.

Arielle grinned and laugh. " Of course I did, I was just waiting for you to give the okay."she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. It was of her nature to do crazy, spur of the moment things like this. It was true, she had been planning to do this tonight whether or not anyone was with her. Since she knew Scorpius and she felt generally comfortable around him, she didn't really care if he saw her in this state or not. It wasn't like they hadn't seen each other this way before..
Arielle watched him undress and smirked to herself. He had a nice body and although she had seen it before, the moonlight gave his skin an extra sheen. Her long brunette hair was plastered to her shoulders and forehead. She tried to fix it but it kept lying against her skin. The water felt great on her bare skin as she floated, waiting for him to come near her. Hopefully he would actually enjoy himself instead of being so self-conscious.
Arielle chuckled when he said it was the craziest thing he had ever done. " Oh....well then we're going to have to change that this year, now won't we?"she asked, fixing her unruly hair. After all, he did say that he wanted to make this year memorable. The girl had done crazier things than this before. One could say she was a party girl, which she was but not exactly. She did more crazy things than party.
Arielle suddenly got a brilliant idea. They could throw a huge beginning of the year party for all of the houses at Hogesmade. It really wouldn't be that hard to do. 5th through 7th years would be invited and they'd all meet up in a secluded spot where no one could find them. It'd be a great time, well at least in her opinion it would be. What more could you expect from a girl whose family throws huge parties every year, on last minute notice.
That was just the way her family was. Arielle's parents were very respectable, they worked hard. So hence forth they played hard. It was just all part of how her family worked. Although her siblings were more mellow than Arielle was, they could still party it up. Maybe she would invite him to a party one time, just for him to see what it was like. She couldn't know for certain, but his kind of parties were probably formal, elegant dinner parties where you had to dine with people only your parents knew.
Arielle laughed softly and she took a breath. She disappeared under the water and swam around a bit before resurfacing silently behind him. She snickered softly as she snaked her arms up quickly and put her hands over his eyes. Although it was obvious, she asked the automatic question. " Guess who?"she asked, smirking.

Scorpius rolled his eyes at her. She was ridiculous, he had of course heard about other things she had been caught doing. She¡¦d been given detentions for things he had never even considered a possibility. The thought of maybe indulging in some of those things with her excited him but at the same time it made him said. They weren¡¦t okay with society, not at all. Maybe this year he¡¦d change that. He doubted it, but it was always a possibility, if he decided it was worth it which was the direction he was leaning in.
The blonde was quite aware of his nakedness even more so when she dove underneath the water. What exactly was she doing down there? Whatever it was he wasn¡¦t exactly a fan of it. Suddenly he felt soft hands over his eyes and she was asking him to guess who she was. A smile lighted on his lips, he couldn¡¦t help it, it¡¦d been a long time since he¡¦d had a girl come up behind him and cover his eyes. Snaking his hands back behind her back he rubbed is softly, pretending to take time to consider this question.
¡§I think I¡¦m going to go with¡K.Madame Pomfrey.¡¨
He chuckled a little bit and then slowly turned around and smirked at her.
¡§Now who exactly told you it was polite to sneak up on people like that?¡¨
Scorpius¡¦s skin was burning from her touch. He had never really been one to like being touched. Yes, he had a bit of a reputation when it came to girls around the school but he had his own reasons for that. At some point you just reach a point in your life where you¡¦d rather do all the wrong things than feel the same way anymore. His parents of course had been very embracing as a child, a son had been what Draco had needed to come out of the rut he was in apparently. They¡¦d become very close, there was no one Scorpius cared more about, even his mother. Scorpius sometimes wondered if he told his father about Arielle whether he would understand. He¡¦d rather keep it secret from his family though rather than threaten both their saftety.
((OOC: ahh I¡¦m sorry its so short, I¡¦m really tired from work, I¡¦ll do better next time promise ƒº ))

Arielle laughed and gasped when he said that he thought it was Madame Pomfrey. " Does my skin really feel that wrinkly?"she asked jokingly as she released her hands from his eyes and swam to face him. The look on her face was a mixture of shock and anger. Of course it was all a fake face just to tease him. Her brunette hair was now plastered onto her collar bone from being underwater.
Arielle couldn't help but think about his parents. What would they think if he dared to tell them about her? What would her own parents think? She knew the answer to that. They would be shocked at first, and her father would be a bit mad, but after a while they'd be fine. It would just be his parents she'd be worried about. Why did they have to be so seperate and so-called forbidden together? It ate her inside whenever she really thought about it. She forced it to the back of her mind as she looked down at her reflection on the water.
Arielle's hair was floating around her shoulders with a few bits here and there sticking to her now dry skin. Her eyes had their usual sparkle in them, and her lips were in their normal, slightly pouty shape. It amused the girl, every year around the last few days of class left, the Gryffindors in her year would all gang up and have a "most likely to" session. For all of her years, she'd been voted most kissable lips and most outgoing. What a lovely combination.
Arielle laughed softly. " Oh Scorpius, it's just a game. Who cares if its polite or not?" she asked playfully, her eyes having the usual flame burn within them. The girl had always been spirited and it was true what her parents said about her. Her heart would never be tame. Even when she was in detention and such, she would rebel. She had the soul like a wild horse, reckless and care-free.
{ooc: it's alright, my muse has been pathetic lately =p}

It was eating away at Scorpius, this whole thing was. All he wanted to do was take her in his arms and make up for the time they had spent apart over the summer. He was slowly starting to think that maybe he didn’t, in fact have purely platonic feelings towards the brunette standing in front of him. The moonlight was slipping down over her shoulders just so and reflecting off her brown eyes in a way that made it hard for him to pay attention to anything she was saying. He hated that they couldn’t speak in public, he hated that he couldn’t just go back to the common room and tell her about his day and have her play with his hair the way he liked her to. They were trivial wants and far from anything he needed but they weren’t really saying much and so he found himself thinking a lot about things like that.
She turned to face him and he was very taken by her face for a moment, reaching for it and tracing her jaw line softly with his fingers before withdrawing them. Noticing the way her hair was clinging to her skin he found himself reaching again and detaching it, moving it behind her ear. He was becoming less self conscious by the moment, getting used to the situation and becoming more and more comfortable here with her.
“Well, I do for one.”
The blonde smirked at her and winked, swimming a bit away from her, stopping when he had gotten far enough away that he was more in shadow than moonlight.
“Then again… If you like games I know some as well.”
He wasn’t really sure what he was doing, this playful side of him was not one that came out a lot. Of course when he had been dating Spencer he had loosened up a bit with her but that had passed quickly, as the whole school had found out when she had quite publicly broken up with him. Since then he had been very conscious about how he was with people, particularly with women, so acting like this was going a lot against his grain. But he wanted her to know she could trust him and that he wanted to be out her with her. And that was saying something. There were very few – well actually there were absolutely no people he would strip down for and swim in a lake inhabited by merpeople and giant squids. That just didn’t sit well with him.

Arielle's stomach did a flip when he touched her jawline softly. She looked into his face, taking in the raw emotion that he was letting pour out. There was that spark she got everytime they touched. The girl couldn't help how she reacted to his simple actions. It was just something about him. Maybe it was just his mysterious nature that made her feel this way. She had no idea, but she didn't mind it either.
Arielle laughed softly as she watched him dissappear into the shadows. " Okay. Scorpius, where'd you go?"she said, her voice soft and velvety as always. Her eyes trailed around the edges of the shadow, trying to see him. The girl swam towards the rock where she thought he was hiding behind, but she couldn't seem to see him. Letting out a playful laugh, she extended out h4er arms to feel for him. This is what she did at these sorts of games. It wasn't fair, but there will no rules.
Arielle smiled as she narrowed her eyes to attempt to see his figure. It was harder than one might think. As looked for him, she felt her stomach get a feeling like there was a pit in it. Did she truly care for Scorpius, or was it just some foolish antics? All this time she knew she truly cared about him, but she was a bit afraid to. She was afraid to because of him. It wasn't exactly easy trying to read someone else's feelings about you, especially not Scorpius'.
Why did things have to be so complicated? Couldn't the two just be what they were with out worrying. Arielle truly didn't know why she wasted her time on questions such as those when she knew the answers. No matter how badly she wanted to change where he came from, she knew she simply couldn't. As much as it hurt her she knew the reason why. For some time, she told herself it was a lie, but she knew one time or another she'd have to face the music about it.
